finally got to see this just now. i liked it even though i thought it was a bit slow. would like to see a part two, now that the origin story is out of the way. reminded me of what the Saiyans do, sending a child to a planet to pound it into submission so that when they arrive it's already compliant to their needs.

I really do think if most of us had superpowers, we’d use them selfishly. Perhaps not in this manner, but definitely to benefit ourselves and those closest to us. It would be too much pressure to be counted on by the whole world.

This movie is an eye-catching, jaw-dropping, mind blowing and flying spectacle flick!

Part of effective horror is taking a comforting cultural touchstone and twisting it into something recognizable but grotesque. Taking the most wholesome origin story of the most wholesome superhero and turning it into Halloween-but-the-killer-is-bulletproof seems like a solid premise for an Americana-gone-bad horror movie, and as a die hard Superman fan, I'm kinda looking forward to this!

As a die hard Superman I'm sure you've heard of Ultraman and it's very likely you've seen other ruthless versions of Superman (Injustice and Justice League unlimited) so this might be a cool film but as a die hard Superman fan I don't think it should be described as a solid premise. That makes it sound original. You know it's been done before.

Yes, the ski mask is to protect an identity and the cloak is for better aerodynamics. You see, when moving fast enough the cloak acts like a wing with a lift force. You might ask "but what about an identity?" Unfortunately, an identity is unaffected by the aerodynamics, but it is affected by the ski mask.

I haven't seen the movie, but I heard that this is sort of "What if Superman was evil, right from the beginning?" Newsflash: Superman wouldn't be like this, because Superman has abilities that this kid doesn't -- super vision (at an atomic level), and super hearing (not just across the street thing, but all over the world). And above all else, Superman has the ability to break the planet with a single punch (and that's his low-balling his powers). To him, killing people is so unbelievably beneath him. Lex explained it in Superman All Star, when Lex had Superman's powers for few minutes. He understood that with Superman's powers, you would have no choice but to be altruistic. Of course, this Kal is inexperienced, and his powers are clearly VERY underdeveloped, so I suppose it's possible for him to go nuts at this stage of his life.

This is actually common practice. Why do you think it’s Steven Spielberg’s Overlord when he didn’t write or direct it? Yet on every trailer and poster his name is put long before the directors. In fact in most trailers the directors were never credited. At least Sony credited the directors and writers.
