🌞Bright Light Houseplant Unboxing! 🌿What's Inside?

Welcome to my channel! In today's video, we're diving into the exciting world of bright light plants with a special unboxing that will surprise many of you. 🌞
I recently purchased four incredible plants from GrowTropicals in the UK, and they are all destined for bright, direct light locations in my home. However, these are not your typical succulents or cacti. Join me as I unbox each one and share my experiences and tips for growing them successfully. Whether you're a houseplant enthusiast or someone looking to buy rare tropical houseplants, this video is for you.
First up is a stunning Croton. Many plant lovers struggle with Crotons, and you might be surprised to see that I'm placing it in direct light. Through my experience of growing many Crotons successfully, I've found that they thrive in bright, direct light. I'll share my tips on how to care for this vibrant plant and keep it happy.
Next, we have two fascinating Adeniums - the Obesum and the Arabicum. The Obesum arrived in bloom, adding an extra touch of beauty to this unboxing. The Arabicum, also known as the Baobab, has a unique growth habit that resembles a miniature tree. I'll discuss the challenges I've faced with these plants in the past and invite you to share your care suggestions in the comments.
Finally, the fourth plant is one I've wanted for years - the Polyscias Ming. This plant gives off serious bonsai vibes, which I absolutely love. Growing up, I was a huge fan of bonsais, and this plant brings back fond memories. I'll delve into the care requirements for this beautiful plant and why it's been on my wishlist for so long.

There was an article by Maggie Stiefvater, in it she said “humans are good that way, you love something hard enough and it rubs off on them, the love, if nothing else.” It’s stayed with me for years. There isn’t a more beloved P. esmeraldense in the community 😊💚

Hi Memo! I have a big desertrose. I had have it for about 4 years and it blooms every summer. I live in Sweden, similar climate as you have. I put mine every year in my greenhouse when its warm enough. In the autum i have it inside my house over wintering in a bright place. It drops every leaf in the wintertime and I dont water It at all. But if the stem feels a little soft you can give it a little water, very little. Good luck Memo😊

I have several desert roses. They live outside in full sun all summer here in Texas. We get up to 107 degrees in the summer and they can handle it easily. Give yours the very most sunlight you can and they should bloom all summer. If you have outdoor space you may let them live outside for the summer. They will love you for it.

Mine are out all summer here in Germany, in full sun. As long as night-time temps are above 10C they do fine. The flowers are amazing. Last year, one of them developed a seed pod, and all the seeds germinated! That was very exciting :)

Love your video! I recently bought an Adenium 'Baobab', just love the look of the little guy, it is now outside on the patio and is full of new leaves. I also have an Adenium Thai Socotranum (a form of A. Arabicum) which I have had for many, many years. It is also outside in full south sun and has crimson coloured flowers. Both plants spend the cold months inside next to a south facing window. When you repot the plant (every 1 or 2 years) you need to remember to raise the plant 1 to 2 cm above the soil to encourage caudex formation. The whole point of an Adenium (apart from flowers) is to form a huge caudex.

But I giggled when you used the word 'βασικα' at the end of your Greek spill just like you often do in English (basically)...well done! very interesting plant haul...not the more common picks but looking good nonetheless👌🏼👏🏼

Thank you, Kathy! It's always exciting to see them grow. For the Desert Rose, I have heard that maybe try giving them more direct sunlight(some people say outside for the summer and ensure they have a proper dormancy period in winter. Sometimes, a little stress can trigger blooming. Anyone else have tips for Kathy? 🌞💡
