    Amazing job, im sorry but i dont understand the wiring, did you put all the strip pieces in series conection and the 2 final wires to each respective + and - of any bulb socket ? thank you so much for the video

    Yes sir. What I did there is that I put the strip light of the tachometer and speedometer in series then tapped into each positive and negative of the bulb socket. The strip light of the fuel and temperature gauge is separated for the speedometer and tachometer. Thank you very much sir!

    Can we just use LED bubbles like for bolt-on mounting?

  • @DraftProject

    Hi bro! Yes you can. Just make sure that those are reputable and durable. I don't recommend buying cheap ones. I already tried that before and It didn't last long. Based on my experience, I wasn't satisfied with the output because some areas of the face of the gauge cluster are dim. After a week, the lights started flickering and eventually stopped working. LEDs doesn't spread light effectively compared to ordinary peanut bulb or incandescent bulbs. So I decided to use the strip light to customize the location of the lightning, almost creating an even illumination on the face of the gauge cluster which is what I wanted to be. For me, the strip light mod does look like OEM enough. Thank you!

    Nice video!! Do you think 3825 leds are better than 2538 leds? I mean, referring to brigthness?.

    Thanks a lot! Sorry, I'm not sure on which is brighter. Those numbers mean the size of the LED but does not proportionally project a brighter output. There are LED that has larger size (higher number: ex. 5050) but produces a normal brightness. I guess try checking the power output as that will be the basis of brightness.

    Sorry for the late response sir. Actually, I'm not quite sure about it since my car doesn't have a dimmer switch. According to other people, almost all strip lights are dimmable so probably it could work.

    If you've done this and now your gas gauge no longer works message me. I've just rebuilt mine one of the harder to find 9k 7.5 red line instrument clusters. I've got pictures of the rebuild and plan to put it on the honda forums soon 👌

  • @DraftProject

    So far, I didn't have any problems or issue with it for the past 2 years. Perhaps overheating could happen if the wire is loose or not secured. The other one is using bigger wires.

    In some cases, yeah. I agree with that too. Fortunately, there are alternative options like in modern cars where they have dimmer switch to lower the brightness. Older cars like this have that option too in some units and variants.

    just buy t10 led bulb, lol

  • @DraftProject

    @DraftProject

    2 жыл бұрын

    That is another easy alternative. For this Civic EG, you need T5 or T6.5 LED bulbs. If you choose those bulbs, expect more uneven brightness. It is a common problem that can be corrected by a customized strip light mod.

    Todas kayo dito kapag na sobrahan higpit nyo sa mga dalawang turnilyo ng fuel at temp gauge nyo kagaya ng nangyari sakin. Mag ingat kayo, wag nyo hihigpitan ng todo yung 2 screws ng fuel at temp gauge. May sobrang nipis na gabuhok na wire na nandun mismo sa turnilyuhan kapag nasobrahan kayo ng higpit mapuputol yun at di na gagana yung fuel at temp gauge nyo. Malinaw nga yung panel nyo pero todas naman yung fuel at temp gauge nyo...hahahahaha. Buti na lang na -isalba ko pa yung sa fuel gauge at kahit paano na-idugtong ko pa pero yung sa temp gauge ko wala todas talaga kaya eto nilagyan ko nalang ng digital temp gauge. May video si JeepDoctor panoorin nyo pero nag comment din ako sa bad experience ko sa digital temp gauge.
