Bridge Fishing by Boat for Dummies HOW TO
Learn to fish a bridge by boat! In this video we show three different bottom fishing rigs that work while trying to get tight at the bridge. Bridge fishing is a great alternate to offshore fishing when the wind is blowing and the seas are high. It’s a great alternative to reef fishing if you get sea sick at anchor. Using the three fishing rigs in this video and learning to set up your own ditch anchor polyball set up, no bridge species will be too large for you to tackle. Leave a comment if you use any of these methods, have any questions or have your own bridge fishing techniques that work great for you!

Finally women that fish to fish and not to flaunt themselves in bikinis just to get subs and actually have legitimate knowledge. They do exist! I can actually introduce this to my two daughters that are 8 and 6 and show them respectable women. Thank you.

Guys, I gotta say, this is also my 1st video of yours and I immediately noticed that you aren't using bikinis and cleavage to make your channel. Its refreshing and I am way more likely to sub and spread the word because of it. 2nd, outrageously informative and knowledgeable! Im impressed and I have definitely been doing everything wrong! I'm off to binge watch the entire catalog and once again, thanks for being wholesome, fun and kick butt fishenman! I'm a big fan of the darcizzle, lawson, thresher and all the other South Florida and gulf power tubers, but you are by far the most informative and enjoyable. I really appreciate the line, hook, reel, rod and bait detail you share, it helps so much. And also don't forget, by informing people of these proper methods you're saving a lot of fish from being harmed and harvested improperly. Keep up the great work!

I agree I think if you are going to harvest fish, you need to do it respectfully of the environment, and in the know that you are taking a life, for your own benefit. Now that's not immediately bad, but if the fish has to suffer first...

Study your chart, there’s an almost thirty foot deep hole near where you’re fishing. I’ve caught limits of Mutton Snappers in that hole when the tide is right. Find it on the chart, then use the depth finder to get on top of it. I’ve also been spooled there twice, probably big Jewfish.

Shorter anchor line as you mentioned, simple loop with an overhand knot before the anchor ball, anchor ball then a tag line back to the console. When a fish eats lift the loop off the bow cleat and throw the tag line overboard along with the anchor ball. Simple and no one has to go forward. We used this method for years bridge fishing tarpon.

Thank you both for having interesting, informative videos. Post election, it's nice to have good wholesome videos to watch instead of the TV! I've been fishing a long time, but just got my second boat at 70. The first was 40 years ago! I learned how to fish as a 6 year old on the old First Street Pier on S. Beach, and Haulover Pier with some trips on drift boats or with friends. Used to go snorkeling, camping and fishing around Bahia Honda as well when I lived in N. Miami. We took our first boat to the KOA at Big Pine Key where they had a ramp at the campground. Not sure if it's still there? Going to tow my boat down there some time, since I retired in N. GA. Great lakes BTW! Keep up the good work.

With that racing tide I would have used a heavy bottom bouncer and used a fly with a spinner tipped with some live bait, let the current do the work for you. This is a great method we use up here river fishing.

Apparently I'm not the only New Guy! haha. Have y'all ever tried the Match Stick Squid? Thin strip of Squid roughly resembling a match stick. Insert the hook as close to one end as you dare. Works well with a jig or hook and pinch weight. When you do it correctly it flutters. You can drift it back from the boat. Or cast it pass the smallies. Elephants just don't eat trees. They like peanuts too! Great vid!

Make a simple loop in your anchor rope and just slip it over the back part (closest to the stern) of the cleat. Then tie a short dock line rope to that same loop and extend it to your helm. Now all you have to do is pull on the short rope to release it from the cleat (as you're starting the engine) and your off. I use this when tarpon fishing and it really works.

The anchor ball is good idea i will definitely get one ,,, i had little incident couple of weeks ago almost lost anchor as a barge was coming towards us i thought it would change course little bit to avoid running into us , i didint the barge didnt care that it would run into us and crush us !! The wanted us to move ! We only figured out it coming towards us without changing course only 100 yards or so away from us,,, luckily we only when we did figure out we quickly untied our anchor rope from the cleat and threw the rope at sea we started our engines fast and ran!! Two weeks from that incident some how fishing in the same spot we saw our anchor rope floating 😅 luckily our anchor not stolen 😅,,,,, thanks gale force we will use anchor ball next time ,,,, barge captain was mean though not to change course 🤨

I would suggest that when fishing near obstacles to not set your drag light. You don't want the fish to be able to run with the line very far or its going to get you wrapped in a snag or around an obstacle that's going to cut your line.

The fish that bridged you was a Mangrove Snapper. Tighten the drag next time and use a longer leader if you’re putting the rod in the holder. Better chance of getting the fish. I’m liking your channel so far.

How do you choose where on the bridge to start fishing?

We just picked one that was out of the way of the main boating traffic. You can also drive around with your fish finder and see where you mark fish!

I tend to like to fish live baits on a flatline. Once you've netted your pilchards, and pull up to the bridge, there will be some, that have died, and are to be found on the bottom of the livewell. When you're getting your drift figured out, and anchoring up, it's a good idea to cut up those dead greenies, and start chumming. That way you can save yourself a chum block or two. Fish live greenies hooked through the anus or nostrils, and float them close to the pylons. Thank you so much @Galeforcetwins for such awesome content, I very much enjoy it! Keep doing what you're doing!

Why do you use such a big reel and only put 30 lb braid. That’s like over 650 yards of line which is crazy. Not that that’s a bad thing but I recommend putting like 50 to 65 pound line for a penn 7500. I personally have a penn slammer 3 as well that’s 6500 which I put like 300 yards of 50 pound line. But any ways love your vids and keep it going, I hope to see another deep sea trip soon because it makes me feel like I’m out fishing which I haven’t been fishing for like 2 months now which is so sad because our boat broke down. LOVE YOUR VIDS AND KEEP IT GOING, BIG FAN, AND HOPE TO SEE MORE IN THE FUTURE.
