I had to replace a wall on one side of a room ( was previously removed and supported with a rsj) I used thermite. It is now warm and comfortable I can imagine you won't need much heating if they are used all round.

looking good, I have been trying to find a clip of a wall being built down some steps, I have 4 steps going down into my garden, I am off to buy 60 bricks in the morning and going to do a dry run and see what basic simple to build wall I can come up with.

Thank-you -loks so easy... For an internal cubicle built with thermalite blocks what is the best mortar to use ? Also are ties needed for thermalite blocks against an existing wall ? If so why. Also can you make a video of thermalite to ceiling level & how to tackle the dreaded corners. Please.

Hi, not so strong for these thermalite blocks, generally 8 sand 1 cement- Yes always tie to an existing wall with ties...single skin walls are not strong on their own..

Hello Chris, I am planning to build a small store house myself with CLC block. Is 4:1 (sand:cement) mixture good enough? I saw many video using adeshives for light weight blocks. I wonder they are for marketing purpose or it has some advantages. It would be great if a neutral expert like you give suggestions.

4:1 too strong imo. Thermalites tend to crack. 1:5 or 6 better. Plenty of plasticiser.

Never understand guys building a racked corner by hand when you have a wall starter up...we just mark a plumb line with a pencil up the wall and knock your line and pins behind the starter then off you go laying to a line!!! It acts as a profile just keep moving you pin up every course making sure its in line with the plumb pencil line SIMPLES.

Nice video. I am building a W24'xD12'xH8' breeze block shed (6") and I am not a builder, Just doing it myself. I am using 4:1 for mortar, is that ok? I made a pillar for door by putting 6" breeze blocks flat on top of each other. Now the wall from the sides have to join the pillar. Do I just join the wall to pillar or do I have to use something in between. I would greatly appreciate if you can share a link from any website about what to use if I have to use something. Thanks in advance.

4x1 is okay for concrete block however the light blocks need a mix with more sand ratios..5x1 or 6x1.....

Sorry my friend...You would be better using "Wall starters" or Crocodile teeth as we call them..They bolt to the pillar and have a bracket system that goes onto each course. You can buy the from any builders merchants..
