With the added info that the original clerks ending had dante die, i think it makes perfect sense...their story is done. if he lived, he'd have had to make a 4.

I loved clerks one and two. I didn’t know. They killed Dante in number three. I can’t watch it now.

It was a mistake to kill him off. His wife and kid die and then he does. Very sad and a very unfortunate end to a cult film series.

Jason Mewes directed a movie. Method in the madness. Much better than any of Smith's recent offerings. And has the last ever Stan Lee cameo
