He played college baseball for the Louisville Cardinals. He was selected by the Dodgers in the first round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, and made his MLB debut in 2019. Get this: Christian Walker was drafted by the Dodgers out of high school in 2019, I believe it was, but he chose to go to the University of South Carolina and play ball. He helped lead them to the College World Series final but came up short against the Arizona Wildcats. He was then drafted by the Baltimore Orioles and traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks. He's from Norristown, Pennsylvania, the birthplace and hometown of both Tommy Lasorda and Mike Piazza. Another strange coincidence is that he played for the _other_ USC and seems to love hitting the ball out of Dodger Stadium, not far (6 miles) from the _other_ USC. 😝

Imagine hitting 3 homers in a game but all of ‘em are solo shots, bitter sweet.

This is just an amateur speculation, but I think the reason for Ohtani san’s temporary slump in the last two games might be due to his lower body not being able to fully brace itself. Perhaps it’s the impact of a self-hit ball he took to his right ankle in the Diamondbacks game. If that’s the case, the effects of this bruise should show up in his batting performance over the next few days. The slump in his batting from late May to mid-June also had the background of receiving a throw to his hamstrings. If the same kind of impact is happening this time, I think he should actively take a break from games. Unlike his time with the Angels, there’s no need for him to keep playing games without rest all by himself.

@@nrpy09 He's 30 and his body is broken down. His pitching arm is basically shot. He will retire before he finishes up his Dodgers contract. In the future he will be considered the greatest "what if."

ヘイ、翔平！ 構えの左肘が良い時より高くなってないか？テイクバックも大きいのでヘルメットの後ろまで左肘が見えるケースが増えてきたぜ。 素振りで右肘を出そうとする意識は良いがテイクバックで右腕が伸びて肩が入るから、そこから右肘を瞬発的に出すには無理な骨格動作で筋肉に力が入りで反応が遅れる＋ブレが出るんちゃうかな？ 特殊なスイングで感覚はよく分からんが、調子がおかしいと感じたら最短距離でボールをスイングするトスバッティングの気持ちで良いんじゃないかな？

Dodgers actually managed to save face in this one, lol. Good all-around team effort from them tonight. Glasnow was strong despite serving up that classic ambush fastball to a struggling Rhys Hoskins for the GS in the 4th inning (him and Smith really need to sequence better after that). Smith finally over his recent hitting woes with an offensive night to remember (was hoping he'd match Gil Hodges and Shawn Green with 4HR, but apparently the Brewers know their own franchise history all too well-lol). Don't look now, but Miguel Vargas is quietly on the verge of a long-overdue breakout season now that he's getting regular playing time of late. Kid always had the potential impact bat and now he's beginning to show it for real. If he keeps this up, Dodgers won't need to go after another OF at the trade deadline. Bullpen looked great with the 3 guys expected to lock down those final innings (Treinen, Hudson, Phillips). More of the same please, GO DODGERS!!! 💙⚾💙

Maybe Biggio first. Andre Lipcius' average is down to .291. But he another homer yesterday and has 19 on the season with 63 RBI. It will be interesting to see what the Dodgers do before the trade deadline.
