    Great video. I recommend going the extra mile and removing the shower screen (needs small Allen key) and gasket for a full clean. These parts can get oily from the coffee beans and the shower screen can get clogged with ground coffee. Just be careful this area and the parts can get hot so best wait until the machine is cooled down.

    Very detailed! Thank you for your time. I'm trying to decide between the breville and a super automatic. I like the more manual process with the breville but both machines require different cleaning techniques. I feel like the fully automatic require more frequent cleaning as the milk is going through the system.

  • @MarksElectricLife

    @MarksElectricLife

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Chris, thanks for the positive feedback. You are correct about the fully automatic systems. Milk is a messy liquid that spoils quickly, to become a life-support for nasty bacteria. IMO you don't want it passing through your machine. Leaving aside the regular maintenance tasks in this video and just considering the clean-up at the end of your daily brew. With the Oracle, you simple wipe the steam wand (it has automatically purged any retained milk), wipe the tray, rinse the brew handle and replace it on the machine. You only put enough milk for the cup/s you are making into your jug so there's no leftover milk to worry about. With an automatic you will need to purge the lines (hopefully removing all milk residue) and decide what to do with with the milk left in the reservoir. Sure you can keep it in the fridge but if you only make a couple of cups a day it will likely go off between days. If you are going to be making a lot of coffees every day, say in a customer service setting, then fully auto is probably your best option but for home use I would strongly recommend a semi-auto like the Oracle. Good luck with your choice ! Mark.

    I live in Scotland where the water is very clean. I use a hack for limescale, when you buy a machine, descale your kettle the same day, then watch for any deposits to form, when it does do a run-through descale of both machines. If you live in a hard water area never wait for the machine to tell you to descale as it is probably, already, too late. I use my kettle as a hack and in 10 years it has developed a slight brown stain from peat, the filter will probably perish before I need to change it.

    That was great , thank you, straight to the point Any tips on getting the basket out to clean the conical burrs?I physically cannot remove it even after moving all the grinds around it and now The wire has come out of one side of the basket. Any hints will be great.

  • @MarksElectricLife

    @MarksElectricLife

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Paula, thanks for the positive comment. Sometimes there may be still a bit of bean stuck between the burrs and this can make it hard to remove. First thing to do is put the wire back into place (if possible). If not, just remove it completely. You should still be able to rotate the burr by pushing against the metal lugs that the wire pokes into. Next thing to do is back off the grind setting completely, by rotating the knob on the left hand side of the machine anti-clockwise for several turns. Then get your vacuum cleaner and use the crevice tool to vacuum out any bean debris. Next, replace the bean hopper and grind for 5-10 secs. This should dislodge any broken beans that are stuck in the burrs. Remove the hopper and then try again to rotate the top burr anti-clockwise and remove. You may need to repeat replacing hopper and grinding until the troublesome bean is dislodged. Once you have successfully removed the top burr you can replace the wire handle. Hopefully, this gets you out of trouble. Regards, Mark.

    Do you have a video of descaling your Breville Oracle Touch with all the things that happen during each step. I find Breville's instructions very difficult to follow. Your instructions 's are not. I tried to descale mine and I don't think it went they way it should.

    You'll need to have that conversation with the Minister for Finance & Infrastructure as it was her that insisted we need such a MF big fridge ! 🤔
