    I looked up the real reason to my question and im still going to ask it in the end, but the reason monks take a vow of silence in a short answer, monks may take vows of silence for a variety of reasons, but primarily it is meant to lessen the distractions caused by speech in order to deepen your practice. It is one way to lessen attachments to samsara. But a thought I also had was when he mentioned “when you talk you are unfortunately mouth breathing” because to stay calm you’re required to constantly breathe through your nose. So my question is do monks also take a vow of silence to not talk but consistently breath through their nose?

    what do i do when its so hard to breath in? like i cant expand my lungs/diaphram wont expand. it makes me feel panicky and like i pull myself apart and rip my clothing and breasts off of my body.

    What if you can’t breathe through your nose? I have a deviated septum and one nostril is fully blocked and the other is half blocked 🙃

    Do you feel a little blocked? Check what yr eating...but when doing brealth work just take it nice and easy❤

    @@afrilifewealth8743 Only in my nose. LOL. Found out I have a deviated septum, which affects my ability to take in air through my nose.

    I used to feel that way also do a couple of gentle sun salutations, or some upward dog or cobra to open up the diaphragm stomach chest area. It took a while but I'm super fine with it now

    Studies have shown breathing through your mouth shortens your life. Our nose is a filter, our mouth is not.
