Quin is trying, yet again, to "go fast." Like most speedrunners, the laws of reality are little more than rules to break from his perspective. In his pursuit for speed, Binkus must phase through multiple solid objects with nothing more than sheer force of will (and some sick kickflips). Learning to spit in the face of God's design is harder than you'd assume, though. Of course, though, there's always the faithful -windbomb- BLSS, allowing each runner to travel insane distances with little effort. _As long as they remember not to let the stick sit in its neutral position for too long..._ Quin has achieved "mastery" over the Great Plateau. You know what that means? Primarily, it means our (mis)adventures have concluded for today, but tomorrow? We're storming the castle.

My favourite thing about Quinn is that he says "We are getting good" and I feel like I'm helping even tho I have never played the game😅

I can only imagine the other champions' reaction while watching Link bombing himself into the air, repeatedly slamming against walls and straight up phasing through terrains, all while running around naked with a stick and a pot lid: Zelda is mildly concerned. Mipha is VERY concerned. Urbosa is confused but also lowkey impressed. Daruk is straight up cheering on you (loudly). And Revali is laughing when you injure yourself but in reality he's mad jealous every time you succeed. And the Koroks are waiting to feast on your corpse.

Quin documenting how to go from N00b to Pro in BotW speedruns from the ground up. This is really cool to watch just how hard it can be to achieve these skills.

Being greeted with a Quinkus video after going home from a day of final exams is such a treat Also Quin the reason why you might stop with BLSS is because 1) you have to much speed so game has to nerf you or 2) you accidentally put your left stick in the “neutral” position, to counter this also have your stick in a direction so you’ll always be in the air and won’t stop

Quin watching you speedrun at a very relatable pace is very fun and all of your videos always put me in a good mood. Thanks for making stuff.

Here are some tips on the BLSS: 1. When doing the wiggle, you actually need to snap the stick fully left and right, though it's important to do it fast because... 2. Link will stop flying if the control stick remains in the neutral position for too long, luckily there is enough time to be able to push the stick left and right. 3. A few small spins in the air is a great way to get your speed back 4. Try using the square bomb so it doesn't roll away from you Also, the BLSS works because Link enters the "step up" animation, in this animation he is unaffected by gravity. Holding the bomb allows him to pause in the no-gravity state, that's how he flies. 5. Because of this, you can only take flight off of something that has the height to put Link into the animation. (A tree stump is a great object to do it off of) [also towers do work, although they can be difficult sometimes] Just looking for short 90 degree surfaces usually works (ruins have alot of them with all the broken walls)

When I saw this popped up in my notifications I had a stroke of excitement!!!😆

I am happy Quin called me a hero. Also, if you plan to keep on this to get a better time I suggest to practice any setup in the run, then to check which setups you struggle with to figure out a setup that suits you the best. Once you practiced all the setups and you feel confident, you can try your first attempt no matters if its over 30 or 40 minutes, any time is considered as good. Looking at your progress maybe you could beat the sub 20 goal in less than 5 or 10 attempts.

Loving this speedrun content. Btw link stops mid flight cuz either you stopped holding b or you stopped holding the movement stick. As a victim of joycon drift I have experienced random stopping myself sometimes. So maybe that's why. If so, Pain.

The reason link sometimes stops during BLSS can be one of two things that are easy to avoid if you know them: either you let go of b, link will instantly fall. or you put the left stick in the neutral position while wiggling. the stick can never go neutral, it always needs to be pointing somewhere or else link will also just stop and fall. so as long as you make sure you're holding b and being careful about wiggling, not putting the stick in neutral, you'll be fine. keep up the grind, I'm also a fellow learner :)

quick tip: a fall damage cancel can be done by holding the throw button letting go of it and before link throws the weapon switch your weapon or shield.

Quin, for the boulder launch outside stasis, you can shoot it with an arrow at the end to get it to go straight up. For the shield jump boost, unequip it earlier. For fall-damage cancel, sorry, you're SOL, because I never figured that shit out.

@@QuinBoBin Before BLSS, before wind bombs and BTBs, back when the run involved actually activating the tower, fall damage cancel was only used to get down from it. I never figured it out myself, but I'm sure if you yeet yourself off it enough times, you'll eventually get the hang of it.

yeah I got carpal tunnel and I was a top runner for Metroid Dread and Celeste at one point

im absolutely obsessed with these speedrun learning videos ur so funny lmao also with the the flying thing, i find that moving the joystick in a very slight semicircle to completely avoid neutral position instead of directly from one side to the other almost completely eliminates the issue of link stopping randomly but idk good luck

Is Quinn actually showing SKILL? He's getting good at controlling these small men.

I actually managed to get in a shrine before it had time to properly load. It was the shrine at hateno and I wind bombed from the tower, landed, and noticed the low polygon look of the shrine...and it had no door yet. Fun fact: even completing the shrine, you can't teleport to it despite showing blue on the map after you completed it. Not until you verify the sheikah slate to open its door.

this is actually an amazing series. like you said, it's kind of a behind the scenes into speed running. I fully appreciate this

The amount of effort you try to put into speedrunning is wicked (good)

The blss stops when you stop holding b or when you control stick goes to a neutral position , so sometimes it accidentally goes to the centre while wiggling

With the BLT, or whatever its called, to stop link from stopping midair, you have to keep the joystick of the controller to the edgeof the circle, don't let it center otherwise the glitch will stop and he'll fall.
