My advice would to be to try and use burning grass so then you can float up and rain a barrage of arrows at them (I suggest the royal bow for this cause it has a high attack and one of the fastest drawing speeds)

I see it as this: Seeing as the Bow of Light is basically forced on you at the end, and all other weapons were optional, you did beat the game without weapons. Like in the no coins Odyssey run, where you had no choice but to get one coin, if the game forces you to do it, then it doesn't count as part of the challenge. So, not including the one time the game forced you to use a weapon, you successfully completed this challenge. Congrats!

Technically the bow of light isn’t forced. You can use any bow to defeat Ganon. Only advantage to the bow of light is that it’s infinite use. But yeah a bow is forced.

95% of fighting Lynels the normal way is getting the timing down for the dodge/flurry rush. And the other 5% is having enough weapons that you won't run out before the fight is over. They're actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

fun fact: if you use the motion aim option, you can swing metal stuff around with motion controls. it is a lot faster and does more damage

The fact this is even possible just by using the in-game mechanics is so cool. It's almost like the BOTW devs knew people would be trying challenges like this. The ability to grab only the shield out of a pile of loot is genius! Such a cool video, and amazing job Ant! Loving your content.

Box combat is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. This needs to be in a Manga or Movie or something

I admire your use of technicalities. Also, let’s take a moment to appreciate how brilliant of a game this is considering that you can beat the game in this way. The amount of flexibility this game allows is astounding.

I like how he carelessly kills some of the strongest enemies with a big box

When he was using the sheild to carry fire, I was waiting for him to set a wooden shield on fire and use that.

@@NoahHalfSquid Because blocking (not parrying) attacks lowers the shield's durability, and Guardian Lasers in particular instantly destroy any shield except the Hylian and Ancestral shield.

i have killed multiple horses from bokoblin riders and i do not feel bad at all

Smallant created a new strat of combat called "Cubefighting"

I always thought on my first play through that you would get the blights weapons after you killed them and when I was struggling to beat my first one (thunderblight) I thought “wow the wait will be so worth it!” But no... Scimitar of the seven...

No I think it was a pretty good estimate

When I tried to transfer the durability of the hylian shield into my other shields for the first time with menu overloading, I did it backwards and ended up giving the hylian shield crappy durability

Cant even beat a Lynel or Ganon normally, but ant out here absolutely clapping them 👏🏻

I'm afraid to say that it's impossible to do this in the master mode, and then, a week later he just do it

With enemies continuously regenerating, I think it is impossible. I can't even kill bokoblins with boxes. (Though I was never very good at killing things with magnesis.)

Like how he started the boss rush barely able to use his shield and by the end he was a parry god

It’s crazy how much creativity this game allows

9:38 so that’s how you were supposed to do it. I attached Octorock Balloons to it, used Stasis on it in midair, then shot it to launch it over the wall

This run is the epitome of "Stop hitting yourself"

The new season of rising of the shield hero looks great. Can't wait for the next episode!

Imagine if in breath of the wild there was a way to fix your shields and weapons that would have been so cool

I once encountered one of those flying guardians. At first, I used Magnesis to move a metal box to protect me from the lasers, but then I hid behind a wall and spent at least 10 minutes whittling its health down to 0 with only the box. Worth it.

That was incredible how you defeated those Lynels with a metal box! What a very creative game play of not being able to use weapons and bombs.
