Whenever I hear this music, I remember one of the most emotional boss battles of the game. When you're fighting that pair of bosses, and Scias is standing off to the side through the whole fight. You're not sure who's side he's on, but then he jumps in and saves your ass. It's like YEAH OMG I FUCKING LOVE YOU DOG SWORD MASTER GUY!

Played the game on EMU with no clues. Always thought I have to fight him at one point as it would be so cool to have a 1-on-1 boss battle with him (I played the version that he's a drunk guy, not shy-stuttering). Turns out he's on our side. Disappointed a little bit but we deserve it. That drunk dog is cool.

It's overwhelming how Ryu's transformation matches perfectly with the chorus.

Playing BoF4 now and this is top tier boss music

This is the kind of music that more games these days can benefit from. I mean, it's so dynamic, this almost sounds like something off of a score from a Hollywood movie!

I wish more people discussed rationally like you guys just did. :D

I love this theme almost as even more then the ff7 boss theme i don't know why....

All breath of fire timeline is order the games is realised because if you look at nina's wings by the size of them it determines when that is happening because in BoF 2 Nina I told Nina II that she married a man from another tribe that made wyndians have smaller wing and lost the ability to turn into giant birds while in BoF 3 Nina's wings were so smallit was just an acessory and in four nina can fly with them but just a little

Heck I enjoyed BOF5 more than all 4. Though 4 was friggin amazing. Had my favorite villain in a JRPG. Most rpgs are like...yeah he's the final boss and he's pretty tough! believe it! While in BOF4 it's like, here play as the final boss and FEEL THE POWAAA I really wish more villains in jrpgs would get fleshed out as much as Fou-Lou, I really felt for the guy.

BoF3 had me crying as a 10 y/o because the story was so good... not to mention the battle system was awesome.

I can say that this is a 'nice' battle theme. Especially that 30 second mark... unusual and powerful for a fight theme. It sounds... nice!!

I agree. I always loved classic RPGs because of the music. This was definately one of the best in my opinion if not the best.

I've never played BoF3, but BoF4 is one of my most favourite games ever. Seems that I should try the 3rd one as well as everyone seems so appraising of that one. I probably won't like it as much as 4 though due to nostalgic reasons. Just as I don't like FF7 all that much, but I love FF8. Or maybe I'm just weird. But I'm starting with BoF1! :)

yeah, thats why i didnt get mad or anything, everyone has their own opinon i guess, and BofII was a good game, dont get me wrond, i just enjoyed that play style of 4 and the battle system more thats all...

I'm lost how everyone thinks BoF3 is better than 4, I love the music in 3 and the art was great but the tedious minigames, the walkthrough required Masters system, the forcing you to use certain characters (only telling you need them 2 hours into a dungeon making you have to go all the way back out then back in) I'm probably half way through 4 and I like it better in every way. And the characters are all well thought out and fun. 3 just got so damned tedious till the desert then it was just hell

i have to give you 5 tracks to compare to one? what does it mean, this track worth 5 other ones? it's so good? check out "Xenogears" boss themes, for example. everything's in place there, tension, atmosphere and suitable music. Here.. we have a good game, good atmosphere, but bad choise of boss music, except last boss theme which is pretty good and suits the atmosphere. If you can't feel the atmosphere change in the game and you would put any random music anywhere - that is your problem. For me - fighting bosses should MAKE ME FEEL that i'm fighting a boss, not a random monster. Remember what music plays when you're running in the temple? it's creepy and dark and suits the atmosphere perfectly. Here, boss theme? No way..
