Underapreciated? Lol If any BoF game is underapreciated is the BoF 3. If anything, BoF 4 is overrated, and mostly becos that cutscene. An undeniable amazing game but still overrated.

@@Angelovizk Maybe overrated for the series, but this series as a whole is insanely underrated, and both 3 and 4, hell 1 and 2 deserved much more than what they got. (especially 2 with its garbage translation that nintendo reused on the switch...)

The game is now 20 years old, but It wakes some deep fond memories in my heart and mind.

Admit it that you guys want to go to an adventure, where you dont have to worry about everything and enjoy single moments like the smell of the grassfield and the laughter of a villager kids haha.

I was in Cancun on the beach. Under an umbrella laying down. With my iPod video in my ear and a pina colada in my hand as I had this on repeat. I see it so clearly even now.

The puzzle, collecting dragon, secret area, rare sword(goo king), rusted sword which evolved after slaying 1000 enemies, learning skill through master, fishing, jokes, damn so many things I love about this RPG, one of the best RPG I've ever play

I think it's a little better than III, that time they axed hunting and so that's the only one without it. But this one has it all, even if the overworld is inferior.

This intro wakes some sweet nostalgia in me... I really have to play this game again soon!

One of the first J-rpgs I played as a kid. Now I'm 37 years old and I've probably finished 100 J-R[pg titles. But I still consider it one of the best games of this type. Virtually every aspect of this game was impressive when it was released. Capcom should consider HD edition.

When I was younger, I would fall asleep to this intro repeating itself. Oh, those good old days. Nostalgia at best.

This is mostly correct (I am not a translator). 信じてましたよ。最初から。 I believed (in it/you). From the start. お前は You... 何をしようとしている What are you trying to do? どこへ行こうというんだ Where are you trying to go? うつろわざるものは Utsuruwazarumono. (meaning うつろわないもの, Those that remain unchanged through the passage of time, also the subtitle of the Japanese game) そうだったいうのか Is that what you are saying..? No. People... 違う。人は People are not that corrupt. 人はそんなに汚れていない。 Who are you... あなた。。。だれだ？。。

Man, wish I can go back to the days when I first played this. Those were the best times and era to live

Still have the original CD. Doubt it still works but is among a handful of games I will never throw out.

It was an interesting choice to release the English version of the game using this exact intro with no subtitles. None of us knew what Ryu was screaming about lol.

That is a double edged sword. They could either make it or break it, just like the battle system in Final Fantasy VII Remake. They removed the Active Time Battle system and removed it with the crappy real time active battle. Hopes are dashed.

Cloudcolin just keep everything the same. And upgrade the in game graphic like the opening movie. For the RPG game I have played, I think BoG IV story us pretty profound.

I really love the original final fantasy VII and I enjoy turn base games. But, do you think With FF7 remakes' graphics and prolly overall quality, Active time battle will be the perfect combat system for the game?

Well there is a manga at least, one in which they go even further than the events in the game.

Sweet, the video loops itself perfectly.

If there's anyone under 30 who watches this in 2020 or later please let me know that I'm not alone. This game hooked me because the dragons look nothing like a dragon. What an amazing way to portray a force of nature.

I first played this game when I was 8, a couple of weeks after it's release. This is still my favourite until today... I'm 26 and every year I beat BoF IV without fail.

Such an amazing game always enjoyed a game where u get to play as both the protagonist and the antagonist love the fact that in this game Ryu is the god that gets to experiment with the good side of the world while fou Lu is the god experimenting with the bad ugly dirty side of the world and in the end they get to fight each other to decide who has the strongest will to bring judgment to the world

I think of fou lou less as an antagonist and more of anti hero. Also its the old Story: fou Lou is Someone who has tremendous power and knowledge by nature, He Looks down on others, so even when the Girl protects hin, He cant cherish it. He also feels No need to explain himself to others. Its the root of all His conflicts. Ryu is the opposite, He has to Work with Others and needs to trust in Order to accomplish. He to sees the Evil of the world but through the eyes of one who is weak to begin with and moves forward little by little and while He lacks the knowledge he gets more understanding as he experiences the world more.

I was 10 or 11. I didn't know what a JRPG was, barely knew anime - didn't have the internet, didn't even have a TV, and the PC version of this game blew my mind forever. To this day I consider this intro the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

2018. Missing this game

Was around 9 when i first saw Breath of Fire IV, I was in college when I got to play it. Now I'm 3 decades older and still in love with this game. Love the art style, bgm, gameplay, and storyline. Love Ryu!!!

I don't think Yuna gets his comeuppance in it either. But would it end the same way? I don't think that'd be a satisfying ending. Maybe something a la FFVII AC would suffice? (Except it would pick up where this left off...) Yeah no chance in hell, but maybe they could make another movie or just have it be longer past that point :S

This game make me happy, fun and sad. This game is awesome and complicated. And now i play this game again for nostalgia!!! BOF4 is one of the best game RPG PS1.

My favorite is 0:22 until 0:38. Its very magical when nina pray and playing with her wand and mysterie when yohm dancing and end with misterious smile and ended with nina saying: i trusted u even for the first time

BOF 3 And 4 are some of my top favorite RPGs. They don't make good stuff like this anymore. It's all FPS and remasters now.

Duke Well, it's true. FPS games get boring due to the fact that nothing changes or there's too much change (looking at you, CoD) and remasters are just that. There have been very little RPGs out there that can rival the old classics because back then, the main focus was on story and gameplay. These days, it's mostly all about how to make the game look graphically beautiful as possible while taking shortcuts in terms of story and gameplay

My childhood favorite game....

The interesting thing is that 3 and 4 are both totally standard normal not particularly inventive or revolutionary RPGs, but they are so brutally difficult yet still very fair and combined with not actually having to grind if you know how to play the game it makes the experience of these games very unique and special because you actually feel like you are going on a journey and not just playing an RPG.

Why Breath of Fire was never made in to a japanese anime is beyond me! heck i'd even watch it subbed and i hate fansuubed content.

Capcom really needs to make this game into an actual anime or at least redo the game in HD, they could literally port the EXACT same game down to the faintest detail just give it a HD remake and I’d easily pay 50$ for it. Between this and a few other classics for the ps1.

Anime never ever, but you can always read the manga.

Now lads, please squeeze in same content, to any current game, and let it weight 700MB...If you think about it, it wasn't very graphically appealing, but the content, that was giving you hundreds of hours, unless you just wanted to finish off the story without any extra stuff, or grinding for best sets of weapons/armour. But if you liked side quests/missions this game was definitely for you.

I wish they would make a movie out of this. In fact, I wish there was a movie for all my favorite video games :(
