Take the United States out of the UN, no need to be in it as America comes first. Close all American Embassies. We don't want to know what's going on in other countries. Take the military home and put them back into civilian life. No need for a large army just enough for the border. America won't be going to war over seas, so only need an army of a 100,000. America has a big Ocean, so no need for as many war planes, 50 will do, to watch over the border. If Russia did decide to invade the rest of Europe, America would be safe, as Russia couldn't reach the American shores or air space, as there is a big Ocean, between America and Europe.

Sending equipment actually saved us money because we didn't have to pay for this equipment to be decommissioned, saved on warehousing, and created room for new up to date equipment. Iceland was paying for shipping because they didn't have weapons or any other way to help so they foot the bill for all transportation.

Our boss called a meeting, telling us to clear out the storage closets of everything....take it home if necessary. We had to show we needed more money by not having staplers, etc., on hand in storage. I imagined the whole government worked this way. Its wrong. Government should be a positive mentor, not negative. Services should not be funded by debt - cut anything past revenue. Debt needs to be tied to investment (infrastructure is the most obvious, but even R and D in the military is EXTREMELY profitable for the American taxpayer) and have ways for measuring the return while ensuring it is paid off in the proper window. Resources are limited.

Good speech finally that made absolute sense.

Cut a little bit of everything, it has to happen. They also need to stop giving away money we don't have.

The Defense Industrial Base of the US did need to be reinvigorated and reshored (and adjacent industries in the supply chain) with China acting up and CRI getting hot. But another thing to consider is this modernizes the US army even more. Send billions of dollars of old shit and all of a sudden you need to source 5,000 2024 tanks to replace the 5,000 built in 1992 that “cost” 20 billion and count as 20 billion of aid.

At the end he makes an argument for the country to have one company in every industry to represent the country internationally to maximize economies of scale for competitive pricing - he also said he wants small government and private ownership to the max. This is the difference between a socialist, a capitalist, and a corporatist. The socialist wants that but all the ownership share to go the people and the capitalist wants to avoid that by having many companies in the country in the sector. The corporatist, which Rand Paul reveals himself to be, have no problem with the end result being ONE company owned by one person that takes all the ownership share - in this same speech, he says greed and human nature can only be controlled with incentives and yet expects that one person to divvy it up so all benefit when we know mad kings come along all the time and giant disconnect (how much could one orange cost? $20?). He had a lot of good to say but what a naive take on economic systems.
