My Dad did this to a woman trapped in a Volkswagen on fire in the 80's. ,He made the front page of local papers! I miss my Dad!❤

All members of my family carry a multifunction flashlight in their car. It smashes windows, cuts seatbelts and has high beam/SOS functions. Videos like this are exactly why my husband and I made sure we all have them!

Where I live there was a fiery vehicular crash with some fatalities involved, but in one vehicle, only a ejected Bible survived. I have a family member who was in a MVA, her car caught fire, she describes hearing the hot flames crackling. But by the grace of ALMIGHTY GOD she survived, the person in the other truck did not

Have stopped several times in my life to help people who involved in an accident were injured. One wasn't so good, they didn't survive. I keep a tool in my vehicles that is supposed to break the window under water but supposed to work on land! God BLESS these wonderful people who stopped!

As a burn survivor, I can attest to lifelong injuries and lose. Pray for the guy who ignited himself in New York, he's no idea what his life will be like. He better get positive damn fast, because all the negative he can stand is coming. Be cautious and don't take fir for granted!!

I came upon a fiery wreck but it was too late. The young mans father was following in another vehicle and he watched helplessly as his sons truck burned beyond recognition. The only consolation is the rescue people said the boy died on impact with the electric pole 😢

Thank God for those people with the virtues of integrity & selflessness instilled in them that resulted in saving a fellow humans life.

Thank God for people like these. That man would have died a horrible death without their help. As the great county group Alabama sang "I believe there are angles among us" for these people are truly angles on earth.

I actually burst into tears when those people, risking their OWN lives, rushed BACK into the flames to pull the man out of the car. I thank God for saving ALL their lives.

Love this story!! We are known as "Minnesota Nice". (Like the comic strip with the older lady being mugged at gun point and she says rummaging in her purse, "Just a second, dear, let me clean it out for you first.". 😉

Almost ten years ago, I stopped for gas out west, then went inside to a gift shop just to catch a break from driving. I was attracted to a red 5" pocket knife featuring a scorpion and a window breaking spike as well as a seatbelt cutter. It turned out to be a double edged switchblade (which might be illegal in some states.) My little grandson was in love with this knife so I promised to give it to him when he turned 16, being careful to show him the true value of it for emergency escape from a car. Now I need another one...

I have an all in one tool in my SUV that breaks safety glass & cuts seatbelts. As soon as my kids were old enough to drive, I purchased the same tool for them.

This is what America is about. Every one helping another person in peril. Thank you good people.

I understand that everyone was in panic mode during this incident, but I have to ask why nobody went to the passenger side of the car, opened the door and dragged the person to safety ?? The right side looks like it was clear of obstructions and could have easily been used as the way to exit the vehicle by the front or rear doors, just saying !! I'm glad to see everyone was able to get away with no serious injuries in this accident, God Bless them all.

Thanks Ty. It's things like this that help to restore my faith in humanity. And you're correct about having something to break your windows handy. Power windows and water don't mix well, and it is impossible to open a car door underwater. Drowning is a terrible way to go also.

My brother owned a wrecker service and arrived on seen of an accident before anyone else and he had to witness a woman burn to death because he was trying to get her out but she threw a fit and told him she would sue him if he didn't stop. I guess she thought it wouldn't engulf her car before the Ambulance and cops got there. He saw a lot of bad things over the 30 year's he had his business. My husband did also because he was a first responder and also drove a wrecker for my brother. My brother was the last one left in my immediate family and he passed a year ago last Christmas from colon cancer. Another tid bit, he couldn't read but still managed to have 3 different million dollar businesses when he passed from hard work. 💔

This was a Honda CRV but only EV fires are reported in the news.

When I used to work PRN at the hospital, you never knew where they would call you in for. One of my least favorite was the burn unit. The nurses there called them krispy kritters, not to be mean, just to cope with the gravity of being there. They never said it to their face, but those were always rough shifts to get through. The patients would panic if you were minutes late doing the dressing changes. I would always have normal saline handy in case the dressing had dried to much and was sticking to the wound.

Also most people forget in the moment that they have a tire iron to change their tire in their trunks and that would shatter a window!!!

They sell a wrist band that is a glass breaker. A spring loaded center punch will also do the job. Tempered glass doesn't take much to break but you have to know how. If you use one of those tools make sure you place it on one of the two lower supported corners, lower left or right of the window. If not, that's when you see objects bounce off. You learn that technique in a vehicle rescue class. tuck that info away and use it responsibly.

I keep a mechanical center punch in the center console of my truck. This is a spring-loaded pointed punch that's used for metal work. It puts a divot in the metal to start your drilling from. One punch at the corner of any vehicle window, the window shutters. They also make a combination seat belt cutter/glass breaker. Please order one and keep it in your vehicle folks, hopefully you'll never need it but well worth the $40 if you do!

They make window breakers and they aren't that expensive!!! The thing's you mentioned would work as well, but the window breakers are designed just for breaking window's!!!

I remember years ago, probably around 25 years ago I went on a job interview and really really wanted to work at this place. The interviewer asked me what the most significant thing I have done in my life? I thought about it a minute and said I saved someones life once. Do you know, they passed on hiring me because of that answer. I would answer it the same way today, I cant think of anything more significant than saving someones life, and I dont understand how that could possibly be a wrong answer, but that was the reason they passed on hiring me. I was way qualified for the job.

Hi. Usually when they saw those seatbelt cutters, the other end has a little spring loaded needle that’ll shatter a passenger window. I always like these videos where the public just jump in to help each other. Even help police sometimes.

you don't need something heavy and metallic to break windows. Something like a Benchmade SOCP Rescue Tool or Leatherman Raptor will work just fine as they both have seat belt cutters and glass breakers

I saw a hack on Facebook that states cars are made so that the headrest can be pulled off and the metal rods on it can be used to break the window.

This is why I always carry a "crash axe" in my car.

Scary scene. Yes inTennessee once while in the Army but visiting my Aunt there we came across a car that flipped as the wheels were still spinning . A young woman drove off a shallow cliff. Landed upside down. I asked my Aunt to stop and I ran to aid her. She was upside down. I didn t know if she had a back injury so I covered her with a sweater as I crawled in the rear broken window to calm and reassure her. Medics arrived shortly. She was hospitalized a few days but turned out ok. She wrote me a letter a few weeks later thanking me for stopping and my Aunt getting aid.

I heard of a woman who picked up a young man during a snow storm on the way to Boston, she asked him where he was going, he told her he had a mission, the snow had gotten deep she had to let him out.Before he told her before he got out you'll see me again when you need me the most.He got out, she thought he fell down the bank on the side of the road, she got out to look. There were no footprints in the snow.

Car windows have changed and are harder to break. You have to keep a spring loaded glass breaker that fits on your key chain especially if you live around large bodies of water.
