Idk, have you ever been to China? There are private businesses, I'm sure. But the citizens do not have rights like Americans do. When Covid was first infecting the populations, anyone that spoke out about it, like individuals that went online to talk about what they had found out, disappeared. All of them. I remember seeing a video of a journalist and there were authorities banging on his door as he was recording the video. He was disappeared too. Also, the doctor that first saw the virus spreading tried to bring awareness to the situation and he was thrown in jail for talking about it, and was forced to recant what he had said and sign a formal document before he was released. He ended up dying from Covid. I also remember seeing videos from China of citizens being hosed down in the streets and forced into vehicles, and I remember seeing the doors of buildings being chained shut to keep infected people from getting out. From what I saw happening at the beginning of Covid from that country, I'd say that yes, their government controls everything and citizens have no say so. China despises America, and I personally do not want them having any info about Americans, bcuz they are spying on us for a reason.

So many China bots in these comments. You can at least remove the random generated digits next time. America is in danger from outside forces. China is trying to get data from US citizens. Republicans pushed this TikTok bill to protect our national security. It's a weird coincidence that the people who used to be anti-TikTok are suddenly pro-TikTok now that they're receiving campaign donations from them.

Not a personal freedom. The CCP is not entitled to our rights. The US government is merely protecting us from a hostile foreign adversary, China. Chinese apps are actually spy software and Chinese propaganda tools, and this is proven.

Ok, so when a foreign country attacks the US, I bet you'll expect the government to protect you then! It has nothing to do with your addiction to TikTok, in fact, that's the problem! You're so enamered with the app that the thought of living without it makes you feel some kind of way, doesn't it? You're thinking about what YOU want at the expense of the country. Just like a true addict.

It isn't censorship. Privately owned platforms do not have to abide by the US constitution. All private media platforms can censor, you agree to it when you agree to their terms of service. TikTok is tied to the CCP just like Temu. Temu app is known spy software (they can see your location and everything else on your phone) and TikTok is a CCP propaganda tool. China is not entitled to US citizen rights, especially as a hostile foreign adversary.
