Looks to be three different 24 block designs already
I think stacked hopper minecarts with varying key items would be the way to compress all of this into a fixed size. 1 digit vs 300 digits would have the same size. This raises questions about the measuring tho. Because 1digit could be 50 blocks (so bigger) but 100 digits could still be 50 blocks (much smaller)
@kgaming7599
7 ай бұрын
In my opinion, a combo lock needs at least 2 numbers so if a design has n blocks per digit, times it by 2 and you have the result i swear snazz deserves the 1k... what a design 😮

This video is awesome! Extremely well done and pleasing to watch. Also, thx for providing every music in the description
I used this system back when I first started MC on PS3. Many years ago, I built a calculator using nearly the same design and a 3x3 button grid. The version I was using was even before hoppers and redstone blocks.
Can't wait to spend hours on this and then just rage quit 🤩
Your videos are getting better and better. And your lil character drawings are hella cute haha
awesome video, i struggled to keep up with the redstone explanations though, especially when it came to comparators 😅
Since the teaser post, I screamed every time "is that zylenox?" "Yo zylenox is in that video" etc. Only for him to be present in 1 second of the intro 😂
I've thought of using droppers to move an item to the next digit when you enter a correct number. The problem with this design is that the resetting mechanism is not easy.

I thought this is a redstone SR history video and was pleasantly surprised that it's super educational! However I have a minor complaint that your voice is just a bit too quiet so that it sometimes gets overwhelmed by multiple sound effects. Despite that, I still think the audio design of this video is super well done! The BGM choices, the sfx, the pacing, and transitions are all professional. The post-production value and the attention to details speaks for itself!
Great editing man
I love Celeste music, and this was a perfect setting for it. Props to you/your editor.
I don’t know much abt red stone but your avatar’s art is so pretty and I love the Celest ost and your editing paired with your humour make great content :)

I like how he added grian at the end even though grian can't make a Redstone contraption that uses more than Redstone dust and repeaters
I would love to see more of this kinda stuff it’s fasinating
I’m unsure how well it meshes with sequencing compared to an rs-norlatch, but if you need a more compact way to store a single bit, I like using a dispenser with a bucket of snow and a comparator. Overall it takes 5 blocks (dispenser, comparator, snow space, fixed redstone, and toggle redstone), but it can be put right next to another module with no interference, and outputs can be staggered to separate lines. (It could also take up 4 blocks if you can figure out a way to toggle the dispenser without leaving the bucket inside when the snow is out). Like I said, not sure how helpful that is in this application, but it’s useful nonetheless
The chess lose sound at 2:28 was nice

Superb job, CraftyMasterman! First time viewer, new subscriber. Keep 'em coming! :- )
i dont know if the music and sound effects from different games affects the youtube algorithm but its great
I have an idea for a design that might be even smaller than the winning entry, but there are two problems: 1. I haven't built it succesfully yet; 2. When and if I get it working, it's a one-use lock. Let's say you hook it up to a door, if you press the buttons in the right order the door will open and stay open, but if you press the wrong button at any point, you will never be able to open it, even if you try the right combination later. That is, until the lock is manually reset of course.
I'm a bit late but I love the video! Very nicely put together
10:28 theinternetftw ftw ! This is the video which got me into Minecraft in the first place. Feb 2011 seems like a million years ago !
as a gd player, i did not expect to hear stalemate as the first song in this video
at 12:00 we can read "skip to 10:22 to re-watch the rules", at12:00 you asked us to skip to a moment before that moment wich isnt skiping its going backwards. ENGLISH IS NOT EVEN MY FIRST LANGUAGE AND IM MAD(even toughit would make less sense if it was my first language).
When I was watching this video, I was thinking to myself "wouldn't it be easy to do this with dropper/hoppers and noteblocks?" and then you did it. For the record, I have never done a combination lock that didn't require command blocks lmao
MinecraftAddict has some really awesome videos of early redstone!
I felt like I was watching a Bill wurtz video and I love it keep up the great work
I know of a design for an order-sensitive item frame lock that uses only one item frame and one button for an input, that is theoretically infinitely expandable It's not the smallest under the hood, but the UI is (the part where you enter the code), and you can literally hide the existence of the lock and the door by _taking it with you in your inventory._ If you take the item frame and the button with you then nobody knows the lock is there. It works similarly to your lectern lock, but also it has a full reset line, you can optionally add any number of reset buttons to close it from the inside, and because of the nature of the way this particular decoder works, you can set one of the digits to 9 and it is effectively lockdown mode, requiring you to use an alternative input on that digit that can go higher than 8. The original design is not mine, but I did modify it to be 4 digits by default, modified it to be wicked easy to change the combination, and I modified it to work on both Bedrock and Java with no changes required (if you're just building my 4 digit design). I have a video showing it on my channel, and I'm pretty sure I have the original designer credited in there. If anyone wants a full build tutorial I can do so.
Finally someone explain the combination principle.
that just straight up looks like a computer with the density of the wiring lol

Oh yo you're the dude who commented on my bookcase lock! Looks like my implementation was pretty similar in concept to your 2020 lock, glad to know I wasn't totally off the mark 😁 No way could I compact things to this degree though, holy shit.
Music gives me nostalgic vibes XD I used to be really into geometry dash back in 2017
redstone lore goes hard
i refuse to belive stalemate goes hard on a minecraft video
Honestly, I think this might be possible with a lot fewer blocks, this is because entities such as boats, mobs, and minecarts give a ton of flexibility without increasing the block count.
