Breaking Into The Coffin Of Queen Elizabeth I
One of the greatest Queen to ever rule over England was Queen Elizabeth I. When she ruled during the 16th and the start of the 17th century, she would have to deal with a massive number of threats to her reign. Many believed that she would not be strong enough as a ruler, but she would be ruthless and she would sentence many of her rivals to death and would dispatch them brutally. She would condemn Mary Queen of Scots to death and she would lose her head by axe. But Elizabeth was cold and calculated, and she would in her final years even order the executions of some of her closest friends. She would also defeat the Spanish Armada which was the most fierce and feared naval fleet at the time, and Elizabeth was loved by her people. However as 1603 came around, Elizabeth was not well and she would give up on life as many of her friends passed away around her and the Queen decided she did not want to live anymore. But following her funeral and burial, her vault where she was laid to rest would be broken into and what those people found was shocking and remarkable.

I love your videos, and the beautiful and intriguing images you use. Thank you for your hard work to share these fascinating topics with us!
Why did you continually show a photograph of "Westminster Palace", Houses of Parliament, while talking about her burial in Westminster Abby? They are not related.
Awesome work as always. Audio much improved!
What did the doctors do with Queen Elizabeth's I internal organs? Were they buried also? Was she buried with any of her jewelry?

The internal organs were removed and buried separately against Elizabeth's wishes. Her jewelry was indeed placed in her coffin.
I wonder why the Tudors bodies would exlpoid inside their coffins?. This in not the first time I hear of such, Henry VIII's body too experienced the same thing.

Because of the gases that build up after the body is dead

Or it was just skewed reporting. There is a Bible passage about this occurring when an evil king died and this was used to demonize later rulers.

Fermentation. If you ever make sauerkraut, you have to open the jars daily to release the gas otherwise the jars may possibly break
I enjoy your content and the other channels, but I'm a bit sad you had to go in for sensationalist clickbait titles like this. Nobody ever broke into Elizabeth I's coffin.

I agree. You tube creators do too much to get views. You shouldn't have to lie to get attention.

@@sionrouge1697 The sad truth is they do, I understand why they're doing it. And it's probably a living for them, so you can't really blame them. But at the same time, I can't pretend I'm ok with it.

@@KRISTIANITY_ Well given that this is a very select interest on KZread you don't want to lose the viewers you have. I'm an American. Here in the U.S. on a fall Sunday there's plenty of things to do I clicked on the video because I'm a history junkie and I expected to learn something instead I was lied to. Oh well back to NFL football

I agree, all these " horrid deaths" are ridiculous. Most are just deaths. The sensationalism is clickbait !

My 2nd favourite queen, the other is also called Elizabeth
Just curious: No one ever mentions anything about if there were bits of clothing left? Just wondering...

There’s a church in the country who have a piece of her clothing. It may have been used as an altar piece. I have seen it on one of the history shows. Can’t remember who but one of the expert ones. Should be able to look it up some where 🙏👵🇦🇺

Your are referring to the Bacton cloth. Restored and has been on display at Hampton Court I believe it is currently in a display at the Guildhall Art Gallery through November
Like her father in many ways.
I would love to hear some new content.
What do you hope to gain from breaking into QE 1 coffin, that's grave robbing which is an unlawful act.

They wanted to keep a record of what was actually there.
Cold and calculated or just surviving
Why didn't they make any comments about the body when they looked into the coffin?
Why is your episode almost exactly the same as the Fortress channel???

My husband is the fortress/ the untold past, and he wrote this video and edited it. We felt HRH may enjoy the information. 😊
Why on earth?!

The Victorians were very ghoulish and fascinated with death.
I guess follow after her father who also exploded
Both her father and her coffin leaked remains?

Well, pre-modern embalming….it was not that unusual for bodies to leak or have gas build-ups/escapes…..that’s just how bodies decay. And “herbs and spices” and organ removal would help some….but not by much.
Really poor title and introduction. A lot of very questionable statements.
Yeah great content but what she did to Marie queen of Scots is disgusting n I hope she burns in hell.
