Breaking Down Evolution with Ian Juby and Dr. Aaron Judkins

In this special After Hours episode of Fringe Pop 321, Dr. Aaron Judkins interviews Ian Juby (NoahFlood.com, GenesisWeek.com, IanJuby.org) about the feasibility of evolution given what we know today in science. Is evolution still the scientific explanation for the origin of life?

Great to see you. Thanks for keeping FringePop321 alive. Dr. Heiser and all the people involved brought us information on many subjects that helped us make sense of them and able to discuss and debunk. God bless you and wish you many more episodes and success.

This is a very well-done video presenting true and accurate information from a Biblical world view. It also belongs on this channel in the same way that thumb tacks belong in baby food. There are plenty of channels making the content you presented here. But Fringepop is about fringe topics from a scientific, Biblical perspective. The same information could have been presented as debunking alien seed theory, or really dig into the fallacies of abiogenesis. This and the eclipse video were good first attempts. Dr Heiser's shoes are difficult to fill. When Dr. Burton recovers his health, he truly needs to be tasked to contribute

Thanks for your input, well said. I love your example of the thumb tacks, truly that was a new one. :) I get what you are saying, and yes, Dr. Burton will be filming again with us. There is no one exactly like Dr. Heiser, he was original. This channel will morph to other topics, and we will still keep the core fringe topics as well. If you know of other people you'd like to see, let me know. Thanks for your comment. It's well put together and thought out comments like yours that we will respond to.

@@FringePop321 Thanks for replying. Allow me to elucidate my position. I've taken time to think and have come to a few conclusions. Years ago, Art Bell hosted Coast to Coast AM. I loved that show. Hearing old Art Bell content takes me back to my 30s in the same way that smelling freshly mowed grass mentally transports people back to pleasant summer afternoons. Not every show was surgically on target, yet looking back it was perfect. George Noory took over and did the same job in the same way that Art Bell did. Even when he had some of Art’s old guests on it just wasn’t the same, but how could it be? Art was highly distinctive and impossible to imitate or duplicate. Additionally, I had a ton of history and associations to the content that couldn’t be repeated. I could go back and retell that story, substituting Dr. Heiser for Art Bell. What I’m saying is this: I’m being more than a little unfair with the new content and its creators and I’m sorry. However, I would like to share some observations. Stick with the same host as much as possible. People will develop a relationship with the persona of the host and that will foster loyalty. I understand that the show will necessarily change because Dr. Heiser is gone, but I can’t stress enough how the show must stick to its namesake. Any restaurant can serve coffee and any coffee shop can serve food. But if Starbucks randomly stops selling coffee for a week here and there, then people will stop going. If the people behind the show want to explore nonfringe topics, then resurrect The Naked Bible Podcast as a KZread channel. Dr. Heiser said many times that he wanted to give people content that they weren’t getting in church or anywhere else. I can’t emphasize enough my belief that mundane, ubiquitous content is going to kill this channel regardless of high production value. Some biblically grounded guests in the fringe realm you should consider are: Dr. Judd Burton (mentioned again intentionally) Timothy Alberino Gary Wayne Derek Gilbert Doug Thonton Steve Quayle Doug VanDorn Derek Olson Laura Sangar Ryan Pitterson Doug Hamp Thanks for your attention. I went a bit longer than I expected and didn’t bother to write an abstract… sorry. God Bless you all and your work!

It’s interesting to see how quickly FP321 is descending into utter fundamentalism after the passing of Dr. Heiser. Mike wasn’t exactly a good friend of hyper-literal approaches to origins. The recent guests on FP321 all seem to be in the YEC camp that MSH put to shame with actual scholarship and research. If you continue to run non-scholarly topics, I’ll seriously consider unsubscribing.

Yeah, I was afraid of this. Dr. Heiser was very friendly towards evolution and a local flood. It's gonna seriously undermine this channel's credibility to start promoting a YEC viewpoint. It also makes me kinda hesitant to recommend videos from here to others.

@@XavionofThera Not sure if you followed MSH very long. He did a piece a couple of years ago that demolished the textual argument in favor of a local flood, and demonstrated it could’ve been local or global. As for evolution, he went with the data, and the text. He ripped apart Darwinism often.

@@kennethos8089 Not sure what Dr. Heiser you were listening to. But he often spoke in favor of evolution on his blog and I would say he "demolished" the argument for a global flood by showing all the language ("all flesh", "whole earth", "every thing under heaven") is used elsewhere to refer to local events. Even aside, I seriously doubt he would support having YEC propaganda on this channel.

Abiogenesis doesn’t claim life emerged one day when minerals just turned into a cell. The theory is that over hundreds of millions of years, simple organic compounds combined and increased in complexity until you had essentially RNA molecules (a much simpler predecessor to DNA) surrounded by a lipid membrane. These simple life forms would be unrecognizable by today’s standards, (it wasn’t until over at least 1 billion years later that eukaryotes emerged) but over 4 billion years they diversified and increased in complexity until what we can observe today.
