At this point it definitely would’ve been a question of “will I be able to get away with this?” rather than “is it wrong to bomb a police station?”

He did kill his boss/friend, so if anything Mike's hate towards Walt is so completely justified here, hell it's even justified that he called Walt out on his bullshit with his ego and pride, which tho cost him his life, in the end he proved to everyone ( us the viewers I mean ) that he was right

@@Dukesparrow1999 Mike has a giant ego as well. Do people forget Mike was all in killing Walt and Walt reacted to that in self defense? So there, Mike hates Walter because he defended himself while also defended and hide Jesse who was also going to be assassinated, by Mike.

I swear everyone just regurgitates the same old "Walt ego make him BAD!!". The way Mike's talking to Walt isn't how he'd dare speak to Gus, despite the fact Gus is known to employ children and dispose of them when it suits him. But Mike's fine with that.

Because Mike looked upon Jesse with almost fatherly affection. I honestly think Mike looked upon Jesse as extended family, and with the care he shows toward Jesse, not just in looking out for Jesse's safety, but also his interactions with Jesse, never resorting to degrading language even when he confronts Walt and Jesse on the drive back across the border seething with rage, Mike never verbally abused or berated Jesse, but expressed pity when he saw how Walt totally manipulated Jesse and how easily Jesse fell for it. Whereas with "Waulter," Mike couldn't hardly stand the sight of him, even the sound of Walt's voice seemed to step on Mike's last nerve. He saw Walt as selfish and manipulative scumbag who had no moral boundary he wouldn't cross if it meant accomplishing his goal.

Mike's reaction to Walt is how you generally respond when you can't stand somebody. And Mike had every right to hate Walt at that point. By Walt doing what he did, he put Mike's ass on the line and destroyed everything Mike had done to provide his family with something when he was gone. Mike did what he did for his family, he even admitted that to Saul in the desert in BCS, and that that's what gave him the strength to keep going despite their bleak circumstances - because it wasn't about him. Walt only acted like he did what he did for his family, and maybe in the beginning that's what it was about, but in the end it became all about him, as he later confessed to Skyler.

Wild to think he may not have even been cast had Bob Odenkirk not been scheduled on something else for those shooting days. Banks had been a day player for years, dropping in on shows for just one or two episodes and that’s fully how they intended to use him on BB until Banks killed it and the writers brought him back. Cut to BCS where he’s getting full episodes just to tell his backstory. It’s so awesome. What I adore is how much the show and the character mean to Jonathan, seeing him choke up in interviews. It reminds me of John Spencer playing Leo McGarry on The West Wing. They both had worked consistently their entire careers but weren’t well known until their late age when they landed what would be their most meaningful, most successful, and most fulfilling role.

In S05E02, Hank reveals that the laptop in the evidence room was encrypted (something which Mike really should've known or guessed, imo). So there was no point in destroying it, it couldn't incriminate anyone anyway. The whole operation, which Walt was so proud of, was pointless. Not only that, but in the process of destroying the laptop the picture frame was broken, revealing bank account details written on the underside which were a huge step forward in Hank's investigation. Walt is oblivious to all of this, and seems to think himself invincible. He's got a whole lot of pride. It can't be long before the fall.

I like how this isn't even the last time Jesse comes up with a good plan. I think Mike has the experience and the know-how. Walter's got the knowledge and technical expertise to pull off any plan. But Jesse is the ideas guy. He's the most creative, and his intuition is very solid. He came up with the battery to charge the van, the magnet to defeat an evidence lockup, and how to rob a train of its freight without them even knowing it. He even suggested Walt could create a robot, an idea that would evenutally come to be when Walter creates a Machinegun Turret. Jesse is definitely a genius who doesn't apply himself often, but when he does, he's something uniquely intelligent.

If Walt, Jesse and Mike just sat tight and did nothing, all three of them would have gotten away with it all. The laptop heist (which was pointless BTW since the hard drive was encrypted and therefore useless to the police) accidentally revealed the hidden bank account info on the back of Gus' desktop framed photo, which led the police to all of Fring's employees including Mike. Losing their money from Gus not only forced Mike to start working with Walt and Jesse again, but also ended up driving a wedge between all of them when Walt decides killing the guys was better than paying them off. The laptop heist feels like just a silly and light action piece to start the season, but it actually puts every single event of season 5 in motion.

They had no clue about his connection to Madrigal, any of the stuff with Peter Schuler, Lydia, Mike, etc. They might have looked into it, since Pollos is associated with Madrigal, but they had no leads.
