Actually, her voice was already struggling by the time she kicked off the tour in Japan. Just watch the rehearsal footage of her performing Express Yourself, that was shown as an exclusive teaser to Japan, or listen to the rehearsal vocals. Her voice was already beginning to get super raspy.

She said at one of her awards that when she looks back at that movie she was so horrifed by her bratty additude. Not only that during her tour she was a mean bitch to everyone.
