    Mikey, the filling for the egg custard bun that you enjoyed is most likely the same coconut custard spread that is used for the popular "kaya toast" in Malaysia and Singapore ❤ Super good. They're known as kaya buns in Malaysian bakeries.

    Pad gra praw / pork basil stir-fry is definitely my most favorite frozen food from 7-11! Always been the first dish as soon as I landed. 😆

    when I go to Thailand, I usually get it as well. Keep it in the freezer, when hungry late in the evening, warm it up, it is delicious.

    10:47 @strictlydumpling I believe that is called “foi thong” in Thai. It’s kinda like candied golden egg yolk threads. It’s super popular in Thai desserts and easily mistaken as coconut bc the texture is similar. I’m glad you liked it since it can be super sweet!

    it's also a big huge part of traditional Portuguese desserts! We call them "fios de ovos" which means egg threads. They might be related :)

    For the “rad na” (the noodle with the gravy sauce), we usually put chili flakes / vinegar with slice of chili / sugar / fish sauce but not with the chili sauce.

    exactly what i said when i tried boat noodle chips for the first time too.. how in the world did they get potatoes chip to taste exactly like noodle soup. and you missed out on that spicy squid flavor mike. that was definitely my favorite flavor lays so much so i took 4 big bags home with me in my suitcase.

    I think the bottled carbonated beverages can’t be too slushy. Otherwise, it would explode upon opening. I wish 7 Elevens in the US had the hot food options that exists in Southeast Asia. Only have those sad looking taquitos, hot dogs, etc on the rat rollers.

    The bottled beverages from the arctic machines need to be opened right away. most of the freezing happens when there is room for the ice to expand. Mike needed to drink it right away.

    It's really crazy to think in just about every other country in the world besides the US all have significantly better 7/11's with better quality of food. But over here the food you get is pretty much what was pulled from behind a dumpster

    Can't say for sure, but it might've helped if you shook the bottle of the Coke/Fanta first before "zapping" it, and removing the cap short thereafter.

    I love basil, is the basil used in these dishes the same as Italian basil? I'm just trying to understand best I can without tasting some of the flavors here and I guess because of where I grew up, 'basil' has just always been something I used in Mediterranean/Italian food and am just curious if this is the same plant.

    I was wondering what the sachet was that you placed under the ramen, then realized it was a flameless ration heater, similar to what you'd find in a military MRE. I've never seen one of those in a ramen kit but it's a great idea!

    Flameless heaters r super common for packaged asian food and are allowed on transports for japan etc unlike in the us

    @@Jzwiz Interesting! I've not seen them, either in person in local Asian supermarkets or on channels such as this. As I said, the only place I've seen them is in their military applications (and maybe used in camping or survivalist specific uses).
