Breakdown of the LeSharo!

Our 1988 Winnebago LeSharo is a rental unit. We love her and we use her but when we're not taking her out we like for others to experience Polly VanDelay. Unfortunately not everything goes perfectly when renting a 1988 Winnebago based on a Renault Trafic van.
Polly broke down while rented and it wasn't a happy time. Our renters were furious. In fact they screwed us over pretty badly. Like really badly because they were mad Polly couldn't get them home.
In the end they made it home safely and Polly did too, but not without drama.

Hey man! Just wanted to let you know your way of formatting this video was perfect. Quality camera work, and a very easy linear path through the video. No back and fourths, or doddling. Well done! Glad I found this channel today!

So glad you were able to get your "LeSharo" roadworthy again. I previously owned 4 "Renaults", and they all kinda sucked scissors sideways through a straw, silly savage sailor... 😜

What a nightmare to deal with. I appreciate your attitude but my RV is for me only no renters.

I rent out an A-Frame trailer. Part of why I like it is that it's simple... Doesn't even have any blackwater tank. Not so many moving pieces so not a lot can go wrong. It probably only makes me maybe 2/3 of what your LeSharo rents for though. Do you guys think renting an RV is better than renting a trailer? Seems like the grass is always greener but would like your input.

For reference the site I use charges $75/day CAD (about $60 USD), and my cut of that is about $60/day CAD (about $50 USD).

Check your valvetrain for damage, the low idle could be caused by a bent valve or rocker arm

Looking for a favor. I have a 90 that I'm working on and it is missing the hood latch / catch system. Would you be willing to send photos of your latch/catch mechanisms for me?

I have the same RV. Do you have a list of all the failures you’ve had? I’d love to see it so I can plan ahead with the proper tools on a road trip.

You can certainly see the failures on this channel. The list of what hasn't broken would be shorter.

This was a good video, however , I am a proud new owner of a 1985 lasharo, and it would be great if I could have seen how the belts were replaced. Because there isn't anywhere to find a book locally.

I'll try to get you a schematic. I'm pretty sure there is one on the LeSharo FB group in the files section.

For every rental our net is about $100/day. She’s usually gone 4-6 days per week. Still haven’t paid off the investment, right now she’s paying for her own repairs and updates.

Renters are not always careful particularly pets. Sad really. I would not rent to pet owners.

We might change our policy to not allow pets. Originally we thought it would help us attract people, but Polly is booked almost every weekend until September so I guess we can probably stop allowing pets.

well, at least all the break downs were not used up before you got it... Renting out a Le Sharo ... you gotta be sadists.
