I'm italian and I consider Brasil as the professors of football. I don't have memories of Pelè age, but I still remember the great selecao of 1982 in Spain. We won vs. a great team (Zico, Paulo Roberto Falcao, Socrates, Toninho Cerezo, Junior, etc). Actually if we had played ten times probably we would have lost eight. Italy will stay at home for the next world cup, therefore Brasil will have one more supporter here (me).

It’s till looks better than any football played today, the skill and just pure intention to shoot goals like that says it all, it was amazing then it’s still amazing now, I love watching football from that era and further back, Pele was also before my time, but I can only imagine at how good he was and the teams he played in, but that 82 team for me is the the most beautiful skilled team of all time I have ever seen. The names send shivers down the spine and are legends for me.

That was one of Brazil's best teams ever, despite not having reached the semis, it was still one of the best teams worldwide.

+ Ajna Bliss Then C. Perreira came and wrecked Jogo Bonito of the 80s squad, saying it was the cause of Brasil's failure in 82, 86, and 90 WC, making Brazil into a European style team, which gave them good results INITIALLY (3 finals 1994, 1998, 2002, winning two) but since then Brazil has won crap (only one semi final in 2014, 3rd Place finish) by still clinging to European style of Perreira School. from what I have seen in 2022, they won't win it either. Another dull Pereiera School style team.

@@aracelymoran2504 i agree with you. we were lucky to win in '94.. but i seriously don't know how we lost the '98 edition..but luckily R9,Rivaldo,Ronaldinho& co managed to win in '2002... but lack of team players' cohesion made us lose in 2006 despite the wealth of talent..The team cohesion that we had back in the 70s & 80s is lost and gone,as you mentioned,due to adaptation to European style... i pray that some magic occurs in 2022. We need to win badly,to revive the jogo bonita..viva Brazil 2022👑🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🥇

Tenho muito orgulho em saber que o meu Atletico MG era a base do time titular junto com São Paulo e Flamengo. Para completar a equipe tinha o imortal Sócrates do Corinthians e o rei de Roma, Falcão. Nesse time fantástico o Serginho era o mais fraco mesmo. Faltou no time não o Ronaldo mas sim o Reinaldo, maior artilheiro do Atletico MG, ou Roberto Dinamite, maior artilheiro do Vasco. Se qualquer um desses dois estivesse em condições de serem titulares na melhor de sua forma física, essa seria a melhor seleção de todos os tempos pois esses são dois dos melhores atacantes de todos os tempos. Serginho, apesar de ser um goleador também, maior artilheiro do São Paulo, perto deles era um jogador comum. Serginho era aquele jogador de área, de 1,94 cm, com alguma habilidade .

If I'm not mistaken, this Selecao side was formed in 1979 by Tele Santana to win the WC82. Just that Enzo Bearzot unleashed the legendary Paolo Rossi at the perfect time to send the star studded Brazilians packing. One of the greatest World cup match along with the semifinals btwn France and West Germany. Epic!

I am fan of Brazil since I had a a pleasure to watch their amazing squad in 1982. It was simply an art.

Prior, they didn't show signs of greatness other than history pushing them. Had brazil merely tied that game, they'd too be unstoppable and win it all.

People forget that the final result of a World Cup doesn't nearly tell the whole story. Brazil's 1982 squad was superb, it doesn't matter that they didn't win it, it still was a dream team that would be on the top 5 squads of all time.

That Brazil squad in 1982 was truly something very special. They had a swagger about them with the attitude of 'you score 3, we'll score 4' They didn't want to defend, they wanted to score goals. A truly incredible squad and i would say, to this this day, the greatest team never to have won the tournament.

Amazing team of 82. Cried a lot when they lost to Italy. Fantastic team that played beautiful football. Everyone in the team was a star. Never seen anything since then.

I can't thank you enough for just leaving the commentary off and not putting any music over this - it's a perfect tribute. No distractions, just the goals.

The Carlos Alberto final goal in this selection from the 1970 final in Mexico is a living work of Art.

Brazil's 1982 team was one of the greatest ever. Had not Careca been injured in one of the friendlies, they would have been really unbeatable (despite unconvincing performance by their keeper). Nelinhos goal v. Italy in 1978 was unforgettable. Only Brazilians can produce such folha seca marvels.

Superb. That list could be 50 goals long! That '82 side was incredible, I was gutted after the final. RIP Doctor Socrates, forever a hero.

I will never understand how Brazil team 1982 didn't win the cup. They made football joy to watch

@@nightprowler6336 On the contrary, they were desperate to win against Italy and didn't settle for the draw...this was perfectly exploited by Italy 82, who played very strong defence and the best counter-attacking football ever. They were even denied a regular 4th goal by playmaker Antognoni.

Brazil was like Federer. So artistic. So genius. So class. The rainbow goal by no.13 was simply breathtaking.

Sócrates was a genius in and out of the field. RIP Legend

Good list, but some brilliant brazilian goals also must be in this list: 1) 1962 WC. Garrincha’s goal from ling distance against England. 2) 1994 WC. Branco’s free kick against Netherlands. 1/4. 3) 1970 WC. Rivelino’s goal against Uruguay. 1/2. 4) 1998 WC. Rivaldo’s goal against Denmark 1/4. 5) 1958 WC. Pele’s goal against Sweden.

Regarding (5): Presumably, you mean Pelé’s •first• goal against Sweden? His second against Sweden, on the last touch of the match, wasn’t shabby, but nothing can match the transcendent inventiveness and skill of that first goal. And I would add Pelé’s 1970 goal against Italy - after all these years, still perhaps the most magnificent moment in any World Cup.

Eder's goal, where he volleyed from his own chip. The keeper was rooted. Man, I was only 10, but I loved that '82 Brazil team. That same World Cup he had a free kick that smacked the crossbar. That would have been a special goal.

What can I say mate. I was two years older than you at that time , but even being so young I fully appreciated the skills of those Brazilian artists. Although they didn't win , they will always stay in my memory as absolutely matchless uncomaprable by anyone and simply perfect. No other football team has made such an impression on me as they did then. The only comparison which comes to my mind is basketball team Chicago Bulls in the 90s.

Even though the majority of these ten are from 1982, you missed out the Zico free kick against Scotland, which IMHO is the greatest free kick off all time. The team of 1982 were something special, easily the best football team I’ve seen play.

That turn by Zico for Socrates's goal v Italy, it literally took John Motsons breath away on thy BBC commentary. Fabulous skill.

The greatest tragedy in world football is that 82 team not winning the World Cup. This is when in my opinion, offensive, creative, and beautiful football died, never to be seen again. Thus began the modern era of tactics, speed, and strength that would dominate football from then on.

Uma seleção com Dida, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Adriano, Juninho, Robinho, Ronaldinho, Kaká ,Ronaldo, Zé Roberto e outros...Mas não levaram nada a sério. Nem preparação, nem concentração, nada. Somos assim. O Brasil já deixou de ganhar várias Copas por causa da desorganização. Mas fiquei feliz por 2006 ser da Itália. Gosto muito da Itália e, realmente, era uma grande seleção. In a List of Best Brazilian goals you can't miss O Rei, Pelé (at least the one against Sweden in 58). One of the most complete Defender, Italian Tarcisio Burgnich (called La Roccia/The Rock) stated after WC Final 70: ""Before the game, I told myself that he was also just meat and bones. But when Pelé brilliantly broke through in an aerial duel after 18 minutes and headed in for 1-0 , I realised I was wrong".

I can't remember much about the Italians (never can) but the sunshine Brazilians of '82 live on in my memory. Thanks Socrates, Zico, Eder, Falcao.... (did they have a goalie?)

No other country scored so many beautiful goals like Brazil did. Btw, Brazil 1982, was probably the best ever team to not wining the World Cup, however they had to play against Italy after 2 days of rest, while Italy had 5 days of rest.

Poetry in motion. Brazil 1982 was the best ever. It doesn’t matter it didn’t win the cup. Slightly weak defense did them in otherwise they played such clean and beautiful football.

Its unbelievable not to have that goal here... I thought it will be the number one and saw the video until it reached number one and there's no Pele goal... Its not even in 10 best. Its like making a Maradona 10 best goals and not have the goal against England in Mexico 86.

Tutti Bellissimi, o primeiro de Sócrates contra a Itália foi no Mundial de 1982, eu estava assistindo ao vivo naquele dia, tinha 10 anos.

That last goal v Italy in 1970 will NEVER be bettered for a team goal!! PURE CLASS!!

Jamais esquecerei a seleção brasileira de 82, artistas do futebol.

More than a half came from 82's team. That was not a team, it was an orchestra, a selection of artists conducted by the great Telê Santana. Love this team, my favorite team ever!

The greatest Brazilian goal ever was Pele's goal against Sweden in 1958. He lobs the ball over the defenders head and turns and strikes it on a volley into the net. Also Pele's header in the 1970 world cup against Italy. Pele has scored and is the greatest Brazilian and, of that matter, the greatest all time football player of all time. Being Italian have the utmost respect for Pele and his great Brazilian team mates. The King of football is Pele and the record books and championships proves it!

Wow, amazing list... it is a pity that so many amazing goals from Brazil are missing, a top 30 goals would be just as stunning.

Zico e Sócrates sozinhos sendo marcados por 5 italianos até o gol... para mim chega a ser um gol mais bonito do que o do capitão na final de 1970, quando a Itália já estava morta em campo.

Soccer balls and soccer shoes from 1978 to 1986 were not as good as they are now, but they are really great techniques... I'm impressed by Zico and Socrates duo's goal in the second league match against Italy in 1982 and Careca's goal in the quarterfinals against France in 1986 with an exquisite passwork breakthrough...

Socrates, was truly a Socrates of the beautiful game. What a giant!

The 1982 Brazilian side was brilliant. It was a heartbreak for me when they lost to Italy in that tournament. Also, I would have loved to see the very good 1986 Brazilian squad play against Maradona's Argentina...If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

5 goals in the 82 World Cup, I remember that wonderful team. I fell in love when I was 9 years old.
