I couldn't believe how great Vince Vaughn was in this movie. I was hooked as soon as he tore that car apart with his bare hands.

And looks like he's actually trying to take more serious and dramatic paths, with this, True Detective, Hacksaw Ridge, and The Forgiven. Makes me really happy because his roles here are so much better than his comedic roles where he usually just plays himself.

@@amsheel9921 Yes S2 is underrated as much S1 is overrated. To me S1 was outstanding technically and had an atmospherebut story and characters were not that interesting with a lot of clichés. From S2 I only remember the party house scenes and the relation between Vaughn and his wife. I remember thinking this relationship was original for this genre : they were both as strong as the other. They were equals and this was trully beautiful and particularly touching in the end

True Detective s2 is almost the opposite of s1, quality-wise. It's a mess in its first half, then there's the time jump, and from that point, it gets better and better and better until a spectacularly bleak ending, while my interest for the arc story of s1 faded away in the second half after a stellar beginning, and I found the bland outcome to be an utter disappointment.

But I disagree and think that Marvel's worst movie is better then most of the DCs movie with Wonder Woman being the only exception and that doesn't even make the top 5 of Marvel. Now that Marvel has Spider-Man on their roster they've got even more life to them.

Vince Vaughn is definitely that era talent that could've been so much bigger. Probably one of the greatest actors of a modern age, but saddles himself with such up and down movie roles. Like, great physicality but also has the natural acting wit to be a modern Bill Murray

Might be my favourite film of the decade. Almost everything about the film drew me in, including small details like the gloves that the revolver-wielding Don Johnson is always wearing, and the use of stairs as a symbol of Vince Vaughan's descent into hell to save his family. Couldn't have enjoyed it more. Craig Zahler setting amazing scripts to grindhouse films, FUCK YES!

A few questions tho, he could walk away from it all, yet, he went back to the dock to shot his own coworkers, jumped off the dock, and climbed right the fuck back? Doesn't make ANY sense at all. And the dock shot out was some of the most boring shotouts i have ever seen and no, having no music at all didn't hinder it that much, it was just shot very bland, very dry. And the dummie heads looked horrible, scraping a persones face to the bone that easyly drew me out of it, just like breaking 3 peoples hands and they don't make a sound at all ? In a suposed realistic film? Not to mention we didn't see the wife suffer enough to justiffie her taking a rifle, she can sudenly use and KILL someone her self? All in all it was STILL solid AF, B+ from me.

Dino Sabalić you have to realize tho, that the director does this on purpose. He pays homage to the grindhouse films and practical effects. Also the beginning is deliberately bad but the entire prison scenes were a masterpiece. I honestly felt more from the violence in this movie than cgi ever has.

Damn this was an awesome surprise for me. I missed this review but once i saw this on your honorable mentions for best in the year i decided to check it out and im glad i did. Man i really miss brutal and still frame action like this. it was awesome to have long scenes of brutal fights with minimum cuts in between. It really made it feel authentic. Plus there was a great use of props for the brutal scenes that took it to a whole other level lol. Lastly i gotta mention Vince Vagnn as well. I do like him in some comedies but sometimes he was annoying with playing the same character most of the time so it was a nice switch to have him in a series role and one where he was different and had great acting. Plus in most of his movies its rarely mentioned how big of a dude Vince is however this movie really showcased that. With this character You could feel his huge presence and intimidation and he really made others look like children trying to fight him lol.

this is the best film of the year. I don't really like Vince Vaughn but he is brilliant in this film , The Violence is way past brutal. It should be a cult film for the future, You must see it before you die

Wow! Just.... Dude! That was awesome. This is why I am subscribed. I saw your review and immediately sought this out. I whole hardheadedly agree with your score. I remember thinking a little half way over "How is this an A-?" Great review. I don't want to spoil anything for people, but if they saw this review and are reading my comment I feel I'm in safe territory. The only criticism I'd give for your video is the "Mannequin" style scene. I was looking out for it the whole movie because I knew it was coming. However when I saw it. As you said it must have been on purpose. I totally thought it was realistic as far as the slow burn and escalation of the violence of the film. It just shoves it in your face. Perfection. Please do more of these non-blockbuster genre films. P.S. If you could do a review of one of my all time favorite movies. It's by John Carpenter. They Live. Thanks for the great recommendation, and great content on your channel. Happy Halloween!!

Apparently this is a PlayStation nation. There are those pushing for a firewall to be installed to keep out those XBoxicans. Little do those people realization we all benefit from gaming across platforms. In these dark times, its truly heartwarming to hear about Nintendo and Microsoft relaxing old restrictions and finally allowing multiplayer gaming across their platforms. I hope Sony will move into the future with them; no one should be locked out of playing a mult-platform game with their friends because they happened to have a different console.
