I've seen them 3 times and have never let me down. Even bought J Roddy a Heineken before a show in Jacksonville, what an honor
Well, my father put his shame on me Said he wouldn't put his name on me Said he wouldn't be the first in his family Whose son cried when he was born Well, he died the day I got a gun Said that he was proud that I's his son That was right there in his plan I'd grow up and be a man And there was a tear I saw it in his eye He said he couldn't think Of a better way to die And the Lord came down And put a spoon in my mouth It tasted so bitter But I couldn't spit it out It tasted like the money That my poor momma made Well, I went an' stole it 'Cause she took it to the grave And there was a note Clenched in her right hand Said, "Boy, if you wanna live "Better die like a brave man." Well, I don't wanna die in the middle of the night I want a brave man's death I don't wanna die in the middle of the night I want a brave man's death Spittin' gasoline, burnin' my teeth Gettin' salt on the fields of my past And a sword'll come down with a milky white flash; I'll get my brave man's death at last I had a woman She had some kids She said she loved them I never did Just the way that they feed And take away what was young My wife's muscle Could do what needed to be done That day that she died Her cup was fully drained She said, "Take hope, my love "That life was worth the pain." Well, I don't wanna die in the middle of the night I want a brave man's death I don't wanna die in the middle of the night I want a brave man's death Spittin' gasoline, burnin' my teeth Gettin' salt on the fields of my past And a sword'll come down with a milky white flash; I'll get my brave man's death at last Had a heart that's willing But a back without a bone And a body'd go to war But my head would come home And I always had a knife In case a real man came along He'd turn his head And his life was gone So, I hold it in my heart Yes, I hold it in my heart No, I hide it my heart 'Cause it's tearin' me apart Last thing that he said to me Was blood was on my hands God, I wanna die like a man YEAH! I don't wanna die. (I don't wanna die.) I want a brave man's death I don't wanna die. (I don't wanna die.) I want a brave man's death Pray the Lord my soul to keep Keep it in his right hand And with his left, to send me death The death of a brave man I don't wanna die. (I don't wanna die.) I want a brave man's death Didn't see the lyrics anywhere in the comments so...

You are a man of culture!
I can never remember the exact name of this song and get many suicide prevention messages trying to find it.
Why doesn't this song have 40 million views
What an Anthem!
I love the revival of motown and southern rock! Its sooo good to hear actual artists! These guys are great live.
Only 80k views? People need to hear this.
College radio circa 04? Shit doesn't matter, somebody will probably correct me but, still a great highlight from those early 00's
"And there was a tear, I saw it in his eye, he said he couldn't think of a better way to die" :')
So good. Parts of me that know I will never write something like this hurt.
First time I heard this song was back in the year 2000 and 14 if I reckon collect it correct. I was leaving Texas headed to Florida and the music set the tone for my experiences. Best time of my life! Then I had to come back to Texas after about a year and what a difference! Everything sucked 1000 times harder than it did and San Antonio is still stuck in 1992 blastin ozzy and Metallica hourly, calling it new rock! I call it old shit, but this here is legendary for the ages. Sucks that all the good bands never get any play, but they can cram Linkin Park and deftones down our throats. In my opinion, all of the other bands I've mentioned sucked when they were popular and not a damn thing has changed! Don't move to Texas!!!! It's hells heat on the northern border of shitville. Tejano anyone?
That's some speaker bustin' shit
it is the first time that i share my thoughts about a song but i believe the music here is rising the deads and the deafs
If you still listen to this in 2021 I respect you :)
this song is simply sublime. love it
Reminds me of KOL first couple LPs. Very raw, garagey. My college roommate, who I grew up playing live music with introduced me to Kings btw 1st 2 LPs. Seen em 6 or 7 times. 1st show was @ 40 watt club Athens, GA. Peter Buck from REM originally owned it...anyway, 400 tix max capacity. Front row, making out w Adam Levines ex pounding whiskey & Cocoainya...followed them to another bar after show. Very friendly, shared their blow, talked good music. More Jack Daniels...and then we went to el Oconee Co Jail...J Roddy reminds me of that night, in a good way. I'm an AU fan, but both my parents are UGA alum. Rumor has it I was conceived there, after Pink Floyd show in ATL😊
There are actually 13 people who don't like this. Are they deaf?

Too many (younger) people dig just what's force fed them by tv and the media. That explains Justin, Katy and way too many others.
Absolutely badass
Love this band 🙌
