You can see so much in his eyes when they took the hook out and started to let him go. Poor pup thought it was all over. Then realises they were just there to help the whole time.

I am disappointed with this channel for not giving proper credit for the video. Thank you to Ocean Conservation Namibia for continuously rescuing seals from dangerous entanglements.

Well done and huge thanks to the rescuers for saving this seal pups life. Huge respect to all the brave people who go out and rescue animals in distress like this.

Wow that little dude was something, he really knew how to bite and fight to protect his friend, what a brave and fearless little one and what a true friendship. It was so touching that after the hook was removed from his mouth this little pup walked couple steps towards the men who held him as a thank you before making a U turn and walked away to join his friends. Thanks for saving that precious creature. These men are real life unsung heroes. Highly admire and respect.

Those guys are smarter than we think. May have been just because it was an animal he socialized with but he may also have realized they had grabbed the injured one and the second one thought he couldn't defend himself.

His lil friend staying behind to keep an eye on him is adorable.

That's a real friend, he was willing to take on something 10 times his size for him.

That's what Ocean Conservation Namibia does, year round. They save seals from what humans produce then lose or throw away in the ocean or on the beach. They run an exceptional rescue operation.

The fact this man saw this hook/line from that distance, charged into a huge mass of seals to save it, that is the ultimate dedication, effort, and commitment! These people are heroes! True heroes! God Bless them and their actions!

You guys have great eyesight to notice something that small in such a huge pack. 🙌

Well done!!! That pup probably wouldn't have lasted much longer. It was great to see he had a true friend with him, too. She was trying to get the people away from her buddy but, I think, she finally realized they were trying to help, because she backed off, but kept a careful eye on the situation. And they say animals are dumb. Hah!!!

The seal must have been in such pain, you are brilliant the way you change their lives .Thank you so much, we love watching your rescues.

@homie3461 oh.....actually most of them are doing this. Recently I saw a tube about Mama dog loosing both limbs, I remember I saw it last year n I happened in Taiwan.... But the new tube was in English.....they use other s tube for $$$$$

The little seal turned around acknowledging the help you gave it, thankyou! ❤ It just reminds me that there must be many animals suffering from instances like this that don't get help, I wish these sorts of things could be avoided..😢

The rescuers are Naude and Anthony with _Ocean Conservation Namibia,_ an NGO that disentangles *_hundreds_* of Cape fur seals each year, as well as the occasional jackal, and sea turtle. They've helped save stranded dolphins, sharks & a whale or two, as well. _OCN_ is comprised of Naude & his family and a handful of associates doing phenomenal work saving seals from young pups like this to bulls twice the size of their rescuers, with very basic equipment and are funded by *_us._* If you haven't already, please check out their channel!

Thank you to _We Love Animals_ for sharing this video of _Ocean Conservation Namibia_ at work! Thing is, *_Ocean Conservation Namibia_* disentangles _hundreds_ of Cape Fur Seals each year, from pups just beginning to explore the ocean to massive bulls that are twice the size of their rescuers. The seals find the trash & play with it, but if it's a circlet or a loop, and they get their heads through that, they don't have the ability to just slip it back off. The OCN team have removed ghost fishing gear -- commercial & recreational, -- gill nets, packing straps, o-rings, gaskets, hat bands and other clothing bits, shrink-plastic sheets, chem-bag parts & netting from vegetable/fruit bags. Many of these have to be literally peeled out of the wounds they've caused. They've also rescued a jackal, turtles, sharks, at least one dolphin and a whale or two. OCN is an NGO -- all their funding is from *_us_* -- doing incredible work with minimal resources. They also gather data for studies being done at Universities. A handful of folk trying to make Earth a better place for _everyone_ that lives here. One way we can all support their efforts is limiting our use of single-use plastics, recycling appropriately and making sure we properly dispose of our trash. There is a documentary about how they came to be & the work they do called _Cutting the Line,_ which i highly recommend, but if you can't find it, they have _hundreds_ of videos & shorts of their work that includes a couple videos of their"origin" story. Thank you for allowing me to highlight them a bit here. Please help make Earth a safer place!

I have such respect for anyone that takes the time to save an animal. This little guy looked so surprised to not have the hook in anymore. It’s 2024 and this should be a rare occurrence but no matter how far we’ve come in some areas others are still heartbreaking.
