​@@neonblkholeI've seen a longer, unedited version of that scene and she knocks it off herself, which frightens her enough to dart away. Which is why you see her further away after the lid is gone, before she feels secure enough to come back

Yes me too. I was crying then holding my breath hoping she could get her little one. The cub is so tiny and helpless. Wildlife has a hard time living with humans. Thank God these men knew what to do.

I know!! And, when mom looked like she was leaving, I was about to cry. Then she came back, and you could tell she had a plan. I got goose bumps after she freed her baby, and took the time to lick him (I assume to remove the human smells?), and make sure he was okay. Kudos to the farmer and the workers for calling Wildlife rescuers to treat the cub's paw. It didn't look like a serious burn, although it was pretty red. A perfect ending!!! ❤🐆🐆❤

This was a bit stressful!!!! The poor Mama wasn't sure how to get to her cub, despite the fact that all these rescuers were trying to reunite them. So glad this had a happy ending for them both!

The farmers were probably burning the cane harvest debris and they'd do it with a big flame, never expecting a cub unable to run away to be in the middle of a human-trafficked area. The fur was singed, but not burned off, saw no blisters or open areas on her toes, so should be a first degree burn that they treated properly. The lid is because predators could snatch her, but big cats have been proven smart enough to solve various "get the meat" box puzzles. Knocking a lid off was easy for her, but kept the cub out of rain, wind, sun and hunters. Hope that helps you a bit :)

Omgosh that baby is precious! And the size of it's paws!!!!! So glad the farmers saved the baby and Wildlife SOS took care of it till mama was reunited with it....

First off I just want to say that baby was the first "red" leopard I have ever seen period. I hope he grows big, strong and produces more like him. Second my heart sank a second when the basket flipped over because that made it harder to free him for her. You could see she was terrified of being caught. Glad the villagers were so understanding and kind.

You can’t beat mother love. That lady leopard was not letting her baby go! Poor little guy, he must have been so scared. Respect to the rescuers.

Where have you read or heard that some people said that animals as a biological group have no feelings toward their young? That's a blanket statement. What's your source? Some animals, such as snakes and turtles that lay their eggs and abandon the nest have no feelings toward their young but no person has made such a categorical statement about all animals.

This is just heartwarming!! This mama leopard seeing her baby for the very first time!! That is like a human mom reuniting with her baby!! It's just beautiful all around!!

They traditionally burn sugar cane before harvesting.
