Brandi is amazing!!!!! She has such an pure spirit and her voice is perfection.

I love how she smiles while she sings. She is absolutely beautiful in song. I'm sure her parents must be so super proud of her.

This song broke my heart in the right way

Just feel down the rabbit hole finally discovering Joni Mitchell's music after I'd heard about her for years. What I'm finding is that she's one of the best songwriters of a generation. Her lyrics put words to emotions like few others I have heard. And I've always been a fan on Brandi. Her voice is perfect for a lot of Joni's work, and this performance of this particular song devastating in the very best way.

Perfection! If you haven’t seen Brandi live… it’s a must.

Iridescent and shining interpretation. Her humility is so endearing and yet she’s simultaneously confident. Her voice brings the lyrics to life. The expressions in each note is beautiful, sometimes it’s an exact replication, other times a slight inflection that is so soulful. There’s an honesty and sincerity that is so convincing. She lovingly expresses the emotion in the searing lyrics. It scorches my heart.

There was a time I had to send my son off to live with his uncle. We stood in a parking lot facing our futures apart after our life together. He said to me look up at the sky and I will too thinking of you. He was high school age. A pure joy to my life. I thought his uncle would be a good influence and he could find his artistic way in the cultural mecca of Philadelphia. His uncle had a large house. Would be a good mentor since he was a businessman accountant. It didn't turn out as I expected. This song echoes what is in my heart.

Actually, Brandi does have a River.....she is Captain of a River boat that goes shrimping and crabbing. LOVE her!!

this song is already so beautiful with the way joni sings it, but this cover tops the original for me. the instrumental orchestration is so haunting. it sounds like longing. like yearning. the violin is insane, especially near the end, and at the end of the song. brandi's voice is so beautiful, too, and is perfect for this song. the runs she does! incredible. she captures the essence of the song exactly. she sounds like she's telling a story with the way she sings it, and where she places the words in each verse. i especially loved the part of this cover where she adds the "goodbye...goodbye." it adds the best extra feeling of emotion to it. i haven't heard it since it first came out, and listening to it again feels like i'm hearing it for the first time. absolute freaking perfection. amazing, amazing job brandi.
