Austin City Limits (ACL) offers viewers unparalleled access to featured acts in an intimate setting that provides a platform for artists to deliver inspired, memorable, full-length performances. The program is taped live before a concert audience from The Moody Theater in downtown Austin. ACL is the longest-running music series in American television history and remains the only TV series to ever be awarded the National Medal of Arts. The historic KLRU Studio 6A, home to 36 years of ACL concerts, has been designated an official Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Landmark. In 2011, ACL moved to the new venue ACL Live at The Moody Theater in downtown Austin. ACL received a rare institutional Peabody Award for excellence and outstanding achievement in 2012. Austin City Limits is produced by KLRU-TV and funding is provided in part by Dell, American Airlines, the Austin Convention Center Department and Cirrus Logic. I’m so tired all the time but I love her so much, she is everything to me. This song means so much to me and I only discovered it this week. I sit in the parking lot of daycare dreading the responsibilities of this child, and the other two, that I was so blessed to create. They have stolen my time, but the return has been nothing less than miraculous. I am tired. I grieve the loss of myself, but Brandi put it so perfectly in this song, that I’m hearing for the first time. All of the losses that I believe exist, I will gain again one day, through their eyes. Such a refreshing thought.

MaryAnn Brown she’s been openly gay a long long time. But she was making a stand for what she believes in, knowing she’s got all kinds of fans, some who aren’t aware, people that got brought by friends.. speaking to the fact that - Even though she is the star standing on stage, who she is with her beautiful family (& they really are beautiful, genuine.. like the real freakin deal if you follow them) is a place where same-sex marriage laws are constantly still being battled, couples being denied benefits, etc -where she is playing. I imagine all the great famous black artists before civil rights could relate. Lauded and applauded on stage, but not legal to use their bathrooms or sit at their counters (not a direct comparison, but hopefully you get what I’m trying to say)

It's not that they are "haters" which is an adjective that is so easy to throw out there regarding replies which you disagree with. We have different beliefs in what the covenant of marriage, and who makes up the family according to God's word and which is designed by God. I'm not going to quote anything from the Bible to you. We have different beliefs which you may not understand We also have the right to speak about them. It like weirds me out that I’m raising children at the same time that are the same age as Brandi Carlile’s. She’s amazing. She’s been such a big deal to me for such a long time.

Imagine how the world would change if all children could get a hug and kiss from mom...or dad...even if they're at work. Because they need it right at that specific moment.

Agreed. I would dearly love more than anything to get a hug and kiss from my parents... 6 years now since they left for that far and distant shore. Living parentless pulls the steady floor from underneath your feet.

Brandi Carlile is such an amazing talent, and her songs are so relatable and true to the emotions and feelings of us all, I believe. It feels as if she’s singing exactly to me what I’m going through in my own life. Almost every song I hear brings tears to my eyes.

Brandie is honest and true and that’s why I adore her. I adore her for when she plays with the twins, I adore her for when she plays with Dave Matthews but most importantly I adore her for lighting a spark in my heart and reminding me that love and dance conquers all.

I've always considered artistes such as Bowie and Peter Gabriel to be vocalist's rather than just singers. They add something more than just the words and notes. I add Brandi to that list.
