Brandi Carlile & Mike McCready - Wild Horses (Live at The Triple Door - 9.8.2012)

Музыка

Brandi Carlile is joined by Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready to perform The Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses". The fourth annual Raise The Roof - a benefit for the Looking Out Foundation - took place at The Triple Door in Seattle, WA on September 8, 2012, and raised over $30,000.
========================================================
Visit brandicarlile.com, lookingoutfoundation.com, and againtoday.com to find out how you can make a difference.
========================================================
In its 4th year, Raise the Roof promises to offer an evening of music and fun like no other!
Held at Seattle's famed Triple Door, Raise the Roof's attendees are an integral part of the evening as they are encouraged to take an active role in the Looking Out Foundation's campaigns and grassroots efforts to support those in need at a local, regional and national level.
Since 2009, The Raise the Roof Benefit has raised $65,000 for the Looking Out Foundation - focusing on causes such as The IF Project, Maple Valley Food Bank and many more. Each September, 250+ attendees spend an evening recognizing, celebrating and supporting these causes.
In 2012 Brandi Carlile announced the Looking Out Foundation is now a "public charity" - allowing them to "DO" more important things as opposed to simply "giving money" to important things. With a newly-appointed Executive Director and Board of Directors, Looking Out Foundation hopes to expand its efforts to include grassroots campaigns, street teams and special events. The Foundation will empower others to be more engaged, take action and reach out to those in need.
Raise the Roof 2012 will encourage its attendees to take an active role in philanthropy -- whether it be through volunteering, donating time/money, spreading the word about specific causes, etc. -- through the Looking Out Foundation. The evening will include amazing raffle items (including a VIP Fan package, iPad bundle, autographed guitar and much more), presentations about Looking Out Foundation's campaigns and causes, highlighted by a special performance by Brandi Carlile (and maybe even a surprise guest or two).

    I just found Brandi Carlisle in my suggestions about a month ago, maybe two. Probable because of The Grammy, or Obama’s favorite list. So so so many damn good artists out there. The invention of the internet, in the last 25 years, has broaden my horizons. I do miss the library once in awhile though. I’m a lover of music. I can sing, play guitar and the piano, none of which I’m good at! Ha ha. I do enjoy getting through a piece and not making a mistake. I am 50 now, with a 19 and 17 year old, and have taken them on the musical journey. When I find a new artist or one rediscovered, I enjoy studying them for about a good 2 months. I hope when I die, and *fingers crossed*, I get to go to heaven, I can pull myself away and continue my studies. A thought occurred to me, wait, I’m going to hear angels. Oh boy oh boy, I’m not going to want to pull myself away from that! Sorry for the ramblings..... I don’t get out much.

    Childhood living is easy to do The things you wanted I bought them for you Graceless lady you know who I am You know I can't let you slide through my hands Wild horses couldn't drag me away Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away I watched you suffer a dull aching pain Now you've decided to show me the same No sweeping exit or offstage lines Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind Wild horses couldn't drag me away Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away I know I've dreamed you a sin and a lie I have my freedom but I don't have much time Faith has been broken tears must be cried Let's do some living after we die Wild horses couldn't drag me away Wild, wild horses we'll ride them some day Wild horses couldn't drag me away Wild, wild horses we'll ride them some day

    I needed this!! for the reason I keep expressing to alot of my friends,, Talent American Idol & The Voice Auditions is a great thing & a bad thing #1.Yea They found a WINNER! #2. The raw talent that they dismissed usually is in an embarrassing career ending way for some of these kids. We as musicians love to be loved and can get that in our hometown pubs & small venue gigs we work our ASS off to bring it to you and leave it on every stage. I'm blown away by the talent here in Dallas Texas,,, I'm amazed how friends of mine and myself lol. never got signed and have our own songs, great players, Never once have I in 35 years seen or met any of the great folks from any record label looking for talent... But I'm OK with it when A beautiful soul like Brandi Carlile pops up on my Cable T. V Music Choice Adult Alternative channel singing "The Joke" At about 4:30 today That version then the Studio live version then On The Jimmy Kimmel Show Live. I shared all 3 To All my friends on Facebook Lol no kidding happy mind blowing tears rolling down my face As this song has me making love to her voice,,, Deep love I have for a chic that can blow me away like that. She rings of Roy Orbison & Patsy Cline to me And crosses over nicely and does Wild Horses as a Music Loving Talent Performer should do...They make love to it! Edie Brickell' Low key breath happy over produced versian Is missing that Wowness! I'm 55 and its funny as Shows are on the hunt for A voice they can mold into eh! Good talent,,, Here comes Brandi Carlile with that very thing you can't teach, mold, or pay for! I think The Joke is one of those Iconic songs that will be the test for those Voices that dream of getting noticed on a mighty big stage. And I say But most of all don't ever give up music Just be yourself, comfortable in your own skin. Your influences will be heard and be the flavor and the color Let it flow! And come naturally as
