I didn't think that anyone could sing this song but Joni. Yet, Brandi did and honored Joni yet made the song her own. Brandi, Iam new to your talent but stunned by it. I also have seen you in efforts to honor women like Judy Collins and Dolly Parton and thank you for this. We should be honoring women from the past while they are still alive. Yet, Brandi, your effort shows the incredible joy of just doing music with great talents, which you are and letting your ego take a stop back. New fan. WOW

You named 3 of my favorite songs as well. This is brilliant. I grew up on Joni, Leonard too..throw in some Ricki Lee. I'm a late coming to you, Ms. Carlisle. It appears I have been missing something truly special. I hope that thank you is enough. (Now if you cover "Company" by Rick Lee...?)

Makes me cry. Brandi elicits something so tender...and wistful and hopeful and sad and...all the human things.

I cried so hard when she sang the first line "Blue" is one of the greatest albuns of all time, an emotional show stopping work of art with so much dephtness and wisdom and "A Case of You" is one of the most beautiful break up songs ever Brandi you did justice to this classic, made it your own and at the same time paid tribute to the legendary queen of folk Joni Mitchell

There is no competition here, Brandi, and you know it - the word is complimentary!... Yet to be complete - what you did with Joni recently anchoring her on stage at Newport - simply being there with you to support - incomparable... Complete. Your voices are unique - wow.

From the first word, I was in tears. By the end of the second verse, I was sobbing. She totally understands the power of this song.

Even joni loved it. She sat on edge of her seat listening. Never seen her do that .

I always thought that Brandib was so underrated with her voice she has the most amazing voice ever!

So well done Ms Carlile. And such a storyteller. Leave it to Joni to keep an ego in check too but you know she must have been so pleased. 🇨🇦

Covering Joni Mitchell is next to impossible, and it usually totally misses. Brandi doesn't miss--she captures Joni like only Joni could do. Truly amazing.

She sung this better than I've ever heard anyone sing a Joni song. I'm crying.

One of the most incredibly gorgeous and touching covers EVER!! Believe me, I know I fall short attempting to describe this. Words just do not do it justice. You just gotta listen and feel with all your senses. Damn, this rendition moves me!!

It loses the beautiful rhythm of Joni's song. I am so sorry to hear how she has lost her voice....

The late great Prince did a beautiful cover of this incredible song too. He was a huge Joni Mitchell fan.

I usually hear people sing Joni songs, and hang up 3 bars into the song. Three exceptions: 1. Emmylou Harris singing Magdelane Laundries, 2.Cyndi Lauper singing Carey, 3. You. Beautifully done

I’m exactly the same. Very hard to be done. Like anyone else trying to sing Freddy Mercury. Near impossible. But Brandi does it beautifully. Also the only other non Joni version of this I enjoy is by the beautiful Portuguese singer, Ana Moura. Stunning.

Prince did a not bad job - as did K. D Lang. As far as coer versions go, however, I personally think Diana Krall's was best effort.

My brother showed me the song Coyote on his phone, he said, look, Joni AND Dylan in the same song. Wow, and what a cool song and with a Nick Drake-esk guitar riff. Joni is still alive isn´t she? I asked. Yes, ha said, I can´t remember any news about her..? So googeling her name I read she had a brain anurism in 2015 that made her lose her ability to walk and talk. But then I saw a live video from 2022 where she sings A Case of You with Brandi Carlile, and how good that made me feel. Back on stage, hitting those notes perfectly and a woman called Brandi truely lifted the song to another level of beauty. So this week I have been blessed with two songs new to me "Coyote" and "A case of you", and a new artist to me Brandi Carlile, and I have been playing them on repeat. I think this will unvail a box of gems, or box of paint in different colours, if you will, for me over the next few months or years. Also, I really have to go visit Canada some day. (I live in Norway)
