Cool

I love my Hotone Ampero I and use it for electric guitar, bass and acoustic simulations for direct recording in my home studio. If I bought the Ampero II, I'd keep my old one and use it for practice with some old powered studio speakers I have.

I'd love to see how this works in a USB recording setup, and if it can record a DRY DI, as well as 2 independent stereo amp/FX chains. I'd also love to see this Re-Amp that recorded dry over USB as well. Noone I've seen has covered this aspect of these units and it's a deciding factor for me between this and a POD Go. I'm pretty sure both can do this but the POD Go only allows 1 amp/FX chain (not dual like the Ampero II).

Looks good.. Would like to see how it performs through an effects return or power amp through an actual cab. Curious on the feel and it's ability to accurately process and track high gain heavy speed picking articulations. Thanks for digging into the gear!

I absolutely second the idea of wiring it through power amp to an actual cab + high gain test. That's exactly the set-up I'm looking for and Hotone is one of the prime candidates for it.

@@peterlendak1688 yeah man.. from what I think I understand, it looks like you can run L&R outputs to either a stereo power amp or a dual amp rig without speaker emulation, and potentially run a stereo TRS to front of house through the effects loop send with speaker emulation.. would be pretty sweet, but might be wrong about cab emulation on the send.

Hey so, I got the the IR-200 and experimented with this.. while it can be done, I felt I needed to keep my tube stuff with tube stuff and digital with digital. While it works, you may find yourself highlighting the "digitalness" and maybe ruining what you thought it was good at in the first place when played in light of a tube amp. To me there is just no mixing them. Tube amps are just that good. Have killer low volume experimental digital powered speaker days with the ampero, IR-200, fractal what ever.. And have good old tube amp days. On separate days though lol. Don't mix em IMO.

Hey Scott, great that you the Hotone Ampero II to review. Let me ask you, how does it stack up against the Headrush MX5. Is it "better" more realistic amps? Can you please do a shoot out between the two? Thank you in advance.

After yesterday's clinic I will have to do a Pedal vs Pedal on these.

I press and hold fsw 1 and it takes me to the tuner; there is no bypass window if I just press it.. How does the Bypass work?

Tks for the review. Do you think the quality of the reverbs has been improved compared to the previous gen. I read and heard that they were one of the weaknesses of the previous ampero. Tks

Hardly. I think it sounds utterly amazing. Have a hard time putting it down.

interesting. can users save individual effect pedals' preset?

does anyone know of a pedal board power supply that can feed this thing the 9V 800MA is requires? I've tried using with my 9V 500MA, but the Ampero 2 intermittently shuts down, so it needs the 800MA.

Does it have an on-screen editor for a PC like most multi-effect pedals? I hate using the pedal itself to edit.

ampero stomp 2 sounds better than hotone ampero? want to buy an ampero is it worth the wait for ampero stomp 2 sales? what do you advise ?

does it have no cab mode for left/right like first ampero? i usually send one side with cab on to front of house and other side plug into amp

Yes with the correct signal path setting that should work fine

Why are you using a pen to navigate the screen? Is the touch using fingers not responsive enough?

I have a question. Is it possible to blend two IRs in the ampero 2?

Hey can you tell me how this feels compared to the boss IR 200? the IR 200 is so sick but it lacks a bit of feel.

Bummer. It's a great great pedal the IR-200. Probably can't compare the 2. The IR-200 I believe has better processing, and higher sound resolution for sure. So while it don't have all the the bells and whistles of the Ampero, it's fully optimized right out of the box. You can't really overload it. Just plug in and play. Headphones, in your effects loop, through a JBL, in your monitors, what ever. Sick tones.

Nux mg 30 or ampero 2, which is better?

Looks like it lost the drum machine and synchronized looper? That’s one of my favorite features of the original Ampero.

I think they are truly different MX 5 Has Way more processing power. The inclusion of an expression paddle also. Also there’s a huge price difference than headrush is much less. I would go for the MX five over this any day.
