Did you have to put a coating on the steel piece first?

I was waiting for you to cut the 30mm wood because that's what you've in the beginning to try it to cut. I mean that's not how you've said it but that's how I understand it. I hope that you've tried it unrecorded and tell us if it was able to cut that wood.

Good morning Adcock , so have you charg you channel from making different objects from your melting of copper , aluminum , brass and other metal mixtures to testing these different machines ie. These laser copying , engraving machines and you have also had several different types of 3D printers for making items that you can make molds of which is closer to what your channel started out to be . It would be nice if you made a different channel for your product assembly and testing of the laser copiers to the 3D printers . Now you would have 2 channels for the one's who like the different items you make with melted metals , and the other for your review of laser copiers are 3D printers .

I had a cheap one and my biggest issue was the software. All I wanted to do was burn text on a cutting board and could never figure out how to get it to the same spot each time. It looks like they're getting better on the hardware (2.5w laser is useless) and the software seems to work better. Might be time to look into getting one to make custom engraved cutting boards.

What software were you using? Lightburn is a paid software but you get a 30 day trial and it’s fantastic. Should work with most engravers

@@ArtByAdrock I started with the Eleksmakr software and had Lightburn. I couldn't get it to work right - but I'm thinking it was the version (3 yrs ago) and the low end laser kit I had. Watching you it seems that the laser head moves to a home position and then moves where you want it to burn.

Iv clicked the link you provided so I could purchase this but it’s giving me different options like 10w and 20w. Both them are different prices too. Please could you help I would appreciate it

can it cut on clear/transparent acrylic sheets? or at least with the paper masking?

Yes it can but you’ll have to adjust your settings depending on how thick it is.

Would this be able to engrave sheet steel, could it cut thin sheet steel .8 mm or less.

No, it cannot engrave metal by itself, but you can apply a marking spray to the metal before lasering, to achieve a light etching effect. You definitely cannot cut metal with this.

Did it come with air assist pipe with machine?

I tried brass and it worked but it was very faint. I’ll be trying it again though with different settings and polished material

Yes very easily. I showed that in the video. Speed may vary depending on the thickness though.

I had one. came in with damaged parts but no damaged box. Looked like someone tried to put it together and failed. The frame only has one screw each to hold the rails to the front and back. Those holes are easily stripped. Two of mine were stripped. I think they need to do better on the frame. Sent it back for a refund.

Why are you going by millimeters per minute and saying that 20000 mm/min is a crazy fast engraving speed?? My laser engrave at 1000 millimeters a second. I don't understand these little kits.

AVOID! I have had this machine for 7months and it gradually loses power and the customer service is really bad. They advertise a 24/7 customer support but this is a lie and they open at 2am British time. Expect one reply every 24hours. I really wouldn’t recommend it. Worked well for first 4 months. The warranty doesn’t mean anything to Ortur.

Long and boring? That is a Laser Drill, and 10:07 Boring thru that wood was awesome... Besides, your main demographic of viewers are adults!! I tell you, that bored through my mind
