So I started flying 5 years ago. I wanted to go cheap by building only flite test models. Then I found your channel. Now I have E-flite, Arrows, and more all based on your recommendations! Need more storage!

I was in Kansas for 2 years with the Air Force, I like the decal!❤🎉 great maiden!❤

Lots of history behind that nose art. Capt. Howard Curran flew that during WW2. also flew in Korea and was a P.O.W. in Albania. Love it.

Like the P-51 Mustang, there were two variants of cockpit canopy for the P-47 Thunderbolt, one was a transparent "bubble", and the other had the fuselage angling up and meeting the cockpit windows obstructing the view of the pilot directly behind them. This variant of the P-47 was nick-named the "Razorback" named after a boar-pig hybrid looking like a pig with tusks and fur on its back that stands up. Some said the P-47 looked like a pig with its big snout for the radial engine, which is shared with the F4U Corsair and F6F Hellcat. It could own the name, too, since it was the heaviest single-engined fighter aircraft that was used by the Allies in WW2. But it could also carry the heaviest payload of any single-engine fighter of the day. Later variants with the bubble canopies didn't carry this monicker. All though it was big, it was also fast. It had an excellent roll rate, was very good at high altitudes, and excelled in what is known today as CAS, or Close Air Support. But the earlier versions had some problems between those extremes. The Messerschmitt Bf 109G, and Focke-Wulf Fw 190A outperformed the early models P-47 at low and medium altitudes, where the P-47 had poor acceleration and performed aerobatics rather reluctantly. A new prop, the Curtiss paddle-blade propeller, in early 1944 significantly increased the climb rate at lower altitudes and came as a surprise to German pilots, who had resorted to steep climbs to evade pursuit by the P-47. One thing that stood out about all variants of the P-47 Thunderbolt, it could absorb an amazing amount of damage, and still bring its pilot home. This is why the A-10 was officially named the Thunderbolt II which shares that characteristic.

I was told this airplane is fun to fly and great starter bird cause it can go from a beginner bird to a more advanced bird. It looks amazing and great job flying it Nate.

If someone complains about the nose art tell them to take it with Capt. Howard J Currant who flew it like that in France in September 1944 in the 405th fighter group.

When I got the email from Horizon this morning I KNEW there would be an RC Saylor's video coming shortly. Looks like a good flyer. I'm going to try again this weekend to "get back into RC". Hoping to fly the Night Radian (during the day for the first flight) that I picked up through you channel...AND the new Turbo Timber I picked up at a local hobby shop (sometimes I need to support them too). I promise, my "next" play will be picked up through your channel. I think I have everything setup for both planes....except...SAFE on the TT. Still trying to get that one working correctly. The P-40 is an awsome flyer and fast

Hi Abby and Nate I had the first release that recommended 3s. Flew it on 3200mah 30c 4s no problems with pulsing. 30% expo and 70% travell. Never used bombs or rockets. It had heaps of pace. The p47 lands better than the p51. Grass no problem. Unfortunately I sold Mr Hankie.

I thought it was discontinued. Awesome to know it's back ..I need parts had a unexpected close encounter with the ground

I've got the original. Still looks and flies great on 3s and 4s. Wouldn't mind having the new avian 70 amp esc. Maybe time to update.... Nice job buddy. Hi Abby. You guys are too cute together...!!! Have a Great weekend. Skip

RC Saylors rock! Good video. I just got mine built and am ready for a successful maiden. One Question where did you CG this plane? The book says 65mm others say 80mm. Which is it?

I’m not sure how well this would hold up to grass take offs and landings TBH. It handled my first hot landing pretty well though, so gotta give it credit for that one!! 😅👍⚓️

Mr Hankey special! I’d buy it but that nose art! Just why, when there’s so many better schemes to choose from? Much better if these were released with decal options. Could easily enough fix it but there’s plenty of other P47’s available.

Did I get first?

I have not been able to find anything on the FMS 1500 P-47 being discontinued. They just released a bunch of videos on it back in February, and I think it sold out really fast, so it would seem odd to discontinue it. It would be a shame if this was true. I have the FMS and it's an impressively chunky model.

What days are you going to be at the AMA in Muncie fun fly? I am subscribed to your channel, and would like to meet you in person .

That’s a nice looking bird, I have a question, how many total airplane, and jets do you have , just curious, you show a lot of RC’s , I have bought 4 jets that you showed , I’m afraid of flying them, don’t to crash any of them, they cost to much to destroy, Also why don’t you live stream, that would be awesome,

Eflite should be releasing their V2 version of rehashed 1.2m warbirds at this price range with minimum LED, softer tyres, 1050kv motor so its quicker and a canopy latch. Come on magnets!? Its 2023 not 2017.

Most often it is 33%-25% from leading edge of the main wing. But it is always in the manual. The further back, the more unstable, so if it is 25% and you are a newbie, keep it to 18-20%, and add some up rudder.

What motor is in this? Is it the same as the V1 model? The HH website only says brushless outrunner.

Id love to see some Das Reich fw190 with prominent swastikas , mg42s and giftgas dispenser

Asking for help. I just got this my buds helped trim and set the radio. I had the old ParkZone, loved it does this do similar. I have not put on the rockets, bombs etc on. Can you take them off after you put them on

I just did my maiden today. It flew great, and was a sweetheart on the landing. Just like the old ParkZone. The drawback was I was using a 3000 3 cell, was down to 49% power in 5 min. The book says 3200 4 cell. How well does that work?@@TheRcSaylors

If this were your very first RC plane, it would be a little pricey. However you can easily get into this hobby with an amazing trainer plane for a little over $200 👍😁😎⚓️

Why does it show discontinued 😮 ?

The paint scheme seems odd. The stripes of Operation Overlord: There are photographs of P-38 Lightening fighters with the stripes on top of the wings. There are also photographs of P-51 Mustangs with stripes on the fuselage of the aircraft, but no stripes on the top side of the wings. Where the stripes of Operation Overlord painted on the bottom of the wings and the fuselage of the P-47 Thunderbolt Razorback fighters?

Depends! Some people value their time in assembly and binding more than others. In some ways, you are correct. In others, I appreciate what they do. With little kids, I have very little build time. This brand offers me more flying time, and I like that. But yeah, other brands can offer more airplane for your money, if you don’t mind doing more work 👍😎⚓️

We actually show airplanes exploding on camera that they have sent us. Not sure that makes for a good spokesperson 😅 And did you miss the part where we talk about not loving the nose art? How about the section where we show the missile tube falling off… yeah, we are definitely NOT spokespeople for anyone but ourselves. Are you just upset that I got a foam airplane a few days before everyone else? You could always start a channel and pretty easily get these early too. Heck Horizon is sending stuff to people with under 1k subs these days. Seriously bro, just do a little work and get your “free” planes! Enjoy! 👍😎⚓️

Sadly it’s not a decal. In this case, I think they would have been wise to let this one be optional. They’ve done this on other models, so not sure why it’s already on this plane ✈️ 🤷‍♂️🤔⚓️

FMS does make a lot of things for a good handful of companies. I can say from experience and industry knowledge that Horizon demands a much higher (but still not perfect) level of Quality Control than even FMS does on their own stuff. Just my two cents! 😁🤷‍♂️⚓️

I got one servo broke in two flights replaced it then i took off it went left and crashed it was done got another one set it all up first flite took off and it did the same thing took off had no controll and hit a tree i love this plane but i think there garbadge

I guess it was just new to us then. We’ve never had the Eflite P-47 so I was pretty pumped for this 👍😁😎⚓️ I agree though, would be really cool to see more new models, like the Ultra Stick, Eratix, or the Beachcraft.
