Do you need to buy a receiver as well? or just the DX5 Pro TX? Never gotten an aftermarket TX. and it has to be Pro or Rugged right?

We love our Axial Capra 4WS! We managed to break the rear steering servo off by being a little too rough on it... but there is a company that makes steel mounting brackets for it on the rear axle housing. Night and day difference! We just posted a video of crossing a deep creek and some mud with it on our channel, the brackets are holding up great! Awesome video.

Hey! I'm going to get this exact truck. I also already have a new dumborc 6ch transmitter that I never used for my first cheapo rc truck....would that allow everything your capra can do steering wise? And all that awesome steering can be done with stock everything? So cool. Can't wait to get it!

Yeah, we wish it cost less too, but I also feel the same way at the gas pump 😢 It's hard watching prices climb on the things we love so much, but it is a sad truth we all have to face right now. Having said that, I can honestly say this feels and drives like the premium truck that it is. I for one am very impressed with it. If I could pass you the controls for the day I absolutely would! The small glassy rocks looked like Obsidian to me :) you can make arrow heads from them, they are very sharp!

Ya'll should check out the Danchee Ridgerock (made by Redcat). Has 4 wheel steering also, a VERY capable crawler at a budget price.

@@TheRcSaylors a Brushless would definitely give you the power you need and some weight down low, upgraded tires and wheels and you would at least have a fighting chance. I've done the mentioned and a couple more to my Capra and very impressed with how much better it performs now, love my Capra!

Nate, what kind of 3D printer do you have? How about an episode on 3D printing??

I believe my redcat rampage would climb that. Not sure if would but would give it the old college try!

I have this on my old AX10 Axial scorpion. It was 4ws sold by axial separately from the kit. It's way nicer for crawling. Guess they needed something for Christmas.

That is a trail truck. I've got a redcat Gen 8. Don;t get me wrong, these are amazing trucks but they can't do super technical climbs. I am getting one capra as well to go with my Redcat.

Nice looking crawler,🛺 love the interior detailing. The lights are great to. So it crawls great, & can crab 🦀 🦀 walk like the new EV Hummer. One hand controller to control them ALL. Yes My Precious 🙂. Fun New crawler fun day🌥☁️🌥. ⚓⚓👍💛💚💜👍⚓⚓.

The cheaper less expensive version of this which was out first is the red cat version if someone is looking for a cheap alternative to this you will have to upgrade the servers to metal gear servos but other than that it has some very nice features for being a Red cat

@@99savage1 it's something 10 I seen the upgraded version is something else or name something else.... But it looks like it's the same capabilities ironically RC sellers actually did a review on the newer model of it

Ironically if you get a red cat crawler and you adjust it suspension out so it's not as tall but more low to the ground it will give you more articulation which will allow you to do more things it's not as stiff as that axial is.... I used to work at a flea market and we sold everything from super high-end to the very basic budget which is the redcat we even had some that were even cheaper than redcat it was a flea market.... You live close to the area so you may know of Richwood flea Market.... But regardless we used to have crawling competitions at our booth and sell tons of the red cat ones because they were so agile plus they came with a controller that automatically had all the features that you're saying you have to get with a secondary controller this one came with everything except for it came a cheaper parts which could be upgraded for the price of the axle for sure you should review that one it's not perfect it does need upgraded servos they will break

As well as the my ground pounder is four different ways to steer.

On 3S it'll last for ages. I have a 3S 3700mAh Helios Shorty LiPo that lasts well over 2 hours and only drops down to ~3.8V per cell. I'm running a regular Capra without 4WS but it should last for the same amount of time.

Your mind will be blown away with Tamiya. Lol

What is the most runtime of this R/C crawler & how long is the battery charged each time before you can play with it again???

These batteries charge in about half an hour and we can charge two at once with our favorite charger, without even pressing a single button. Pretty amazing honestly. Run time because these are small batteries is about 15-25 minutes on one battery, depending on how we are running it 👍😁😎⚓

@@TheRcSaylors Okay. . . .thankya for the reply back. I bought my buddy the Temper G2 4WD crawler as a Christmas gift for this year. Took like 9 full hours to charge the battery pack for the maiden run. Got around 20 minutes of run time with it. cant find any where in the manual as to how long to charge the pack to full charge for more play time. just been charging for like an hour to an hour & 1/2. The battery pack is a SpeedPack 2, 900MAH, 6-cell NiMH, 7.2V

@@truckerray7533 Hey I have the same crawler and I charge up the Nihm batteries with a Dynamite Prophet Sport mini and it takes about 45minutes top to fully charge the 900mah battery at 1amps max.

@@truckerray7533 In my temper I went straight to a Venom fly1300ma 2s lipo and get great run times. Just put a alarm with it to notify you when battery is getting low and it all will fit in the battery tray space but with hood off(a little playing with wires/connections etc may allow hood on)

Lol, probably never. Over 100 hours of printing if nothing messes up, hours of assembly, nearly the same cost in electronics as some RTF things, lots of headache only to see it fall apart in the sky on its first loop or break in half on a soft landing?! I guess I just don't see the appeal. I'd rather buy a FT plane or build one from scratch, and I view that as a one time novelty. Just not my thing I guess. I'd rather be out flying. Maybe one day I'll do that just to say I did. Am I wrong in my thinking they are fragile? 🤔

The Danchee is a good rig. We've owned one and there is definitely nothing wrong with it. I just wouldn't compare it to the Capra 😁😉 Such an awesome hobby! 👍😎⚓

Wow only 550 bucks what a Bargin .....

I'm really disappointed in Axial for the staged rear steering. For that price, steering should be fully proportional both front and rear. I would have bought this right away if that were the case. If Redcat can do it in the Danchee RidgeRock for under $120 I see no reason Axial can't pull this off stock. Thanks for the heads up, and for saving me 600 bucks, but I'll be passing on this one.

Axial has slipped up bad makin old new again. The ryft sucks, the scx6 is just an expensive and big scx10 and its sucks too. And know a 4ws capra rtr with garbage electronics. They have stalled out, and other companies are makin the newer innovative rigs. I really hope they have somethin that's actually new and useful in the near future
