I think the legit one has help up better and just looks better since the fabric goes into the connector.

thanks so much for the tipp to put it in the washing mashine and dryer. I was so annoyed at the braided solo loop because it was so loose after 1,5 years that my watch would slip to the bottom of my wrist all the time. But now it fits perfectly again. That tip just saved me from buying new one. (which wouldn't have been another braided solo loop despite the comfort)

Gotta try that washing and drying method. Need my band to shrink a little because it doesn’t fit like it did when I first got it.

Don’t forget the dryer too. It doesn’t shrink a ton but it def worked fairly well for me.

I bought some off brand Amazon ones for my new s7 and it’s been great. I may eventually get a genuine one soon

Upvote for taking the time to make the washer and dryer b-roll. Good video, now I want to buy one. I just bought the regular solo loop as my work means I can get nasty stuff on it and need to be able to wipe it down.

Great review! I never thought about putting the loop in a pocket and then in the washer. Haven't even got to explain that to my other half! :)

Glad you liked the video. Let me know how the band fits after a wash cycle. It may not get it all the way back as new but it def helps.

I fully agree with this review on most everything stated, and I too think of it as 'the sweatpants of Apple Watch bands'. I wasn't sure how much I'd like it but I like it a lot. Sometimes it's so comfortable I forget that I have it on. I bought a Solo Loop at the same time, and I got the Braided Solo Loop sized a bit differently: Size 9 for Braided Solo Loop and Size 10 for the Solo Loop. Since I appeared to be between sizes, both seemed to work, I went with the 9 for the Braided since it tends to stretch out a bit. I seemed to be between sizes when I used the Apple tool on the website to measure when I was at home, and in the store trying on the bands it also appeared that it was a toss-up. It proved to be a good decision; both bands are super comfortable. The time I spent making sure about the fit paid off. Finally, yeah the price is a bummer, but you know the quality *is there*. What's sort of crazy is this: This Braided Solo Loop band costs the same as the Milanese mesh band. The Milanese mesh band looks so much more 'elegant and fancy' it's kind of strange that with the visual juxtaposition of the two that the prices are the same. Actually, if I'm remembering correctly, I think the Milanese mesh band was originally $150 and Apple lowered the price a few years back. How weird is that?? Apple lowering the price! :-)

Glad you liked the video and like the bands. Yeah I agree with the pricing. I wish they would go a $75 price tag or something just to separate them from the Milanese and leather links. You are right they used to be $150 that and the leather loops and they reduced them. Doesn’t happen often but maybe one day the braided will drop if they figure out a way to cut manufacturing costs. 🤞

I went at the Apple Store and the size guide suggested size 8/9 but the employee told me to try size 6 because it will stretch and now the band fits me perfectly after 2 weeks

I bought mine with my watch in October 2022. My wrist measured to be an 8 but I got a 7 in case of it stretching. Unfortunately 7 was still too big and within a few months it had stretched to the point where it was uncomfortable to wear because it would just slide up and down my wrist. I tried washing and then drying it in the dryer but it made no difference so I just had to switch back to the Sport Band that I got with my Series 0. I think they need to adjust their sizing guide.

the key is to find out what companies get discounts through apples corporate portal pricing. I found out in my country (Australia) a couple companies that get discounts through apple such as super market companies and every time I get a new band I ask can I please get the corporate pricing for that band for this company. 9 out of 10 times the employees don't ask for any type of ID and the discount is always roughly $9 off anything under $99 and $20 off anything under $199 and there is only discounts on accessories such as bands phone cases

I went a size down. But honestly might have could have gone 2 sizes down and been fine (not positive about that tho) but 1 size down was def better than the same size.

I’d say they are the same. Now with the ultra my band is looser cause the watch is taller. You’re best best is to go in to a store and try them on. I also recommend sizing 1 size down from the regular solo loop size if you have one of those.

My wrist size is 6 inches or 160 mm, and the Apple website suggests size 5. I have heard of people sizing down even further, but I have never had a braided solo loop so I don’t know whether to go by Apple’s suggested size or whether to size down one size.

Do you have an Apple Store close buy they’d probably let you try it on. If not they do have a 14day return policy. I’d size down a try it out for a week.

Hi, how long have you had your watch? Does it easily get scratched?

The stainless steel sides will scratch fairly easily. But you can polish it (I have a video on that). The graphite and gold have an extra coating that helps prevent scratches but once it happens your out of luck. All the stainless and titanium models comes with a sapphire screen so the glass is super hard to scratch unlike the aluminum models.

Hi there! Do you have links for the leather loops as well? I bought a few knockoffs with terrible quality. Yours seems way better.

I don’t think the company that I got them from is still around. I bet they are pretty similar. I don’t wear them too often. Just if I need that color for some reason.

I use laundry detergent. Usually gain or tide.

What happens after long term use. Does it have sweat smell after few months

No I’ve never noticed a smell from it. I have a lot of bands so I don’t wear it everyday. Although I do wear it to sleep track most nights.

I’d welcome a price reduction but I think it’s worth it anyway. I got 4 (all the same size but different length ;-}. I still have to wash one to see if it shrinks to initial length. Nice video!

Good while. For swimming I’d recommend the Nike sport band the one with the holes.

Thank you so much for doing this video! You mentioned in the comments that this is not worn daily because you have other bands. I'm the type that puts a band on it and wears it for years. Will this band hold up to 24/7/365 use or should I look at something different?

Probably all depends on the activities that you plan to put it through. I’ve not worn it ever day but I’ve worn it a good amount in the last 3 years and other than stretching out a little it’s held up really well.

@@TheAppleBias a friend gave me an Apple Atlantic Braided Loop Watchband (small) and taking a long shot I called to see if they could do an exchange for the larger size. They said no problems and set an appointment to come into the store where they promptly told me "sorry but this is discontinued so we can't do an exchange". So no braided loop band for me for the time being

Will it get ruined if it gets caught on velcro? I'm afraid of it being pilled or frayed if it gets in contact with velcro. I'm around velcro everyday with my dogs diaper and onesie, that's why I'm asking. :-)

Interesting that it’s $99 but the 45mm Apple Watch series 8 is $429 and with the added braided band it becomes $479 instead of $99+ at $528… is that’s because they’re already charging $50 for the sport band that comes with the Apple Watch?

I like the white one the best. The solo loops do hold on to more dust and lint the. The original sport bands every did. Their also not as hypoallergenic which bites. But guessing these items had to suffer for the stretching of the band.

Solace Bands are awful I wouldn’t buy those, they don’t fit the slide latch properly and they stretch out super fast with no way to get them back to being a snug fit. I had a similar issue where my dog was jumping on me and pulled an edge out, customer service wouldn’t replace because it was manufacture issue so the band was toast. Spend the extra money.

Solace bands are the same as the Amazon generic import ones with a mark up. These style of bands all stretch out after a few weeks and don’t handle moisture that well.

The price tho. Oof

@@TheAppleBias just ordered a couple braided loops on eBay. $3.99 shipped from china. Not expecting much. Long as the watch doesn’t come off and fall/break will be good. I can’t spend 25% of the watch on a JUST a band.

To wash it you should put it in something so that to doesn’t get caught on something in the washer.

This camera from the side is stupid af. Do you also turn sideways to people and look at different direction when talking to them? Why the f would you do that.
