Does Bradley's first test accommodate the possibility of events that are extraordinary and which somehow exceed my/our present understanding of reality? Does he presume that the science of his day adequately accounts for and rules out numinous dimensions of existence? How can he so confidently ground certainty in the present? There are artifacts in the built environment and in recorded testimony that even the most expert modern speculations fail to adequately reconstruct, testifying to the possibility of lost knowledge. And any of us may have experiences not in line with the reigning consensus. Given how often our paradigms shift, where does the center lie?
