Does the US have a plan for Ukraine other than stalemate? | The Bottom Line

Russia and the West have been locked in a battle of wills for more than two years over Ukraine, fighting and waiting to see who will back down first.
But regardless of how long the war lasts, Ukraine will be partitioned in the end, argues Ian Bremmer, founder of Eurasia Group, a global political risk consultancy.
Bremmer tells host Steve Clemons that “the willingness of the US and Europe to take economic pain to hurt the Russians is minimal” and the sanctions against Moscow are not stopping it from exporting oil and gas.

No. Absolutely have him on so you can analyze his and his groups' thinking. Never ignore your opponents's willingly given information. Analyze to find the strength's and weaknesses. Keep the weakness weak, make the strengths the weakeness. That is how you win. No emotion, only strategic and critial thinking from as many POVs as you can. Do not ignore the smallest details.

How can the West economically, politically, and militarily weaken Russia, the world's largest country with plenty of resources? Decades of Western sanctions against North Korea, much smaller country than Russia, but instead, North Korean people are still there, living together peacefully, while some of the west are wondering round provoking this and that, these and those. See what's happening in Gaza? Innocent Palestinians die every day, while Western governments turn a blind eye to this matter.

Simple the west and partners are the biggest customers or atleast were the biggest customers. And stop comparing ukraine with gaza. first of all the ukraine war happened 2 years earlyer so the country'that support or allow russia to do it. were doing this for years already. and ukraine never attacked russia in anyway before the invasion. hamas did attack israel. so it's a big diffirence. And those country's that support or allow russia to invade it's neightbour are now crying the hardest for gaza. if hamas didn't attack israel on oct 7 there wouldn't be an invasion either. and most of all the most hypocrite of all you blame western country's for turning a blind eye on gaza while the middle east is doing the same for 2 years longer on ukraine.

@@DutchFR1908-rj2jz Wrong. The west and partners were the biggest customers. Now India and China ARE the biggest customers with the west STILL purchasing Russian oil and metals despite their claims and sanctions. So your argument is nonsense. Secondly Palestinian land is under international law being illegally occupied by Israel. And under international law the party being occupied has the legal right to resistance by any means including by violence. The occupier has no legal right to self defence and the fact that the west is watching and supplying Israel with weapons to help the occupier slaughter the occupied is a perversion and violation of international law. And Israel has been occupying Palestinian land for Decades and the Palestinians have been resisting said occupation for that same length of time....much much longer than the 2 years of the Russo Ukrainian war. So your entire Zionist rant is absurd nonsense.

It’s hard to see this man blabbing about a bunch of words against Russia to finally admit Ukraine is in a tough spot. It was a terrible gamble to throw all of the west credibility behind an underdog fighting a much bigger much stronger and determined adversary. Now nobody is willing to bear the shame of defeat even though they all know that all hope is lost. The longer this goes on the worse it’ll keep getting for Ukraine.

The level of the US national debt cannot be maintained, the country's authorities must take some action. This was announced on July 2 by the head of the Federal Reserve System (FRS) of the United States Jerome Powell, speaking at a forum at the European Central Bank (ECB) in Sintra. "The path we are following is unacceptable, there is no doubt about it. This should be the focus of how we get back on a path that we can maintain. In the long run, we need to do something. It is better to do this sooner than later," he said in response to a moderator's question about the level of the US national debt. The broadcast was conducted by CNBC.

Ukraine never had nuclear weapons that belonged to them and nowhere in the Budapest Memorandum does it say that the United States would protect Ukraine for giving Soviet nuclear weapons back to Russia.

4:45 YT does not allow truth about which country blew up the NordStream Pipelines that provided inexpensive gas to the EU, but let's say that the US liquified natural gas exports to the EU multiplied exponentially, with enormous cost to EU manufacturing and home heating users, and huge profits for US LNG producers. So, in that context, Russian oil and gas exports were diminished.

Bremmer's tale is quite old. After the abject failure of the Zap counteroffensive and the constantly ramping Russian military pressure since late 2023, leading to a growing list of Ukrainian frontline strongpoints falling, it is folly to keep referring to Ukrainians taking back territory. The counteroffensive in Kharkov was the high point of Ukraine's military efforts and it took place in autumn 2022. The situation is bad.

He lost me at if you look at the world. Do they realize how the BRICS alliance is growing, do yhey imagine Russian economy growth figures come out of thin air. The NATO countries are the ones who are getting smaller and incidentally they are the ones in need. If elections are anything to go by, Russia is stable the West on the other hand has snap elections to curb emerging sentiments of discontent.

Have you seen the swing to far right in all the countries and how their protectionism is going to bring down Europe further?
