I'm not sure why but for my deceased cousin ..who was like a sister too me after one of my real sisters died ...whenever I feel her near I think of the first line of this song...She was like nothing I've ever known ...her eyes shined like diamonds in a field of snow 🥹

As a non English speaking teenager, I didn't really understand what this song was about, I just felt encouragement from this song. Now Ive become fluent in English, I love this song even more. What a strong and overwhelming song, their voices are sou touching... I was happy to have happened to hear this song in the shopping mall after a few decades.

After all of these years, I never realized nor it caught my eyes on how Michael hardly moves & dances in the music videos. Even to the point where he was getting fewer camera shots than 3 other members. Later on, we found he was suffering (still til this day) from major back problems. He was really struggling to keep up with the group, back then. I really hope he's doing okay & his back improved

As a young man who grew up during the 1990s, and 'matured' during the 2010s, this song has special meaning for me. When this song first came out, the predominant belief was that you were NOT allowed to leave relationships that you were in, no matter how bad things got, because it was for the good of the family. Nowadays, people are afraid to do so because they don't think there's anywhere for them to go if they do. Liberal black feminism gets a bad rap, for no real reason at all!!!

Its funny, yesterday just finalized my divorce and these lyrics speak so much to my experience. I remember a moment of clarity, lying in bed and staring at the ceiling and knowing that staying with someone who didn't truly appreciate me would end up "killing all the love I had inside." Thank you for all your support and interest, it’s been 5, going on 6 years post divorce. I am remarried. She's a beautiful and smart woman I met in back in 2006. We dated then for a short time but timing wasn’t right. We reconnected in 2015 and now are married and have 2 beautiful sons. I’m grateful everyday I left an unhappy situation to open myself to great things. I don't think my ex-wife was a bad person, just not a good match for me. My new marriage isn't perfect (what relationship is) but we are committed to each other and willing to work and be open to learn and grow. Sometimes you need to go through some rough times to truly appreciate the good in life.

Almost 2019 and i still got here to listen to them...
