i had no business listening to this music as a 12 year old. Then when i was 21 i met my husband father of my kids all the love songs became about him. He passed away 3 years ago leaving me with 4 children i find comfort when i listen to this song. Young folks love love hard life too short. AT the end that's all that matters i am a young 34 year old widow . My best years where with him. Life goes on even when i have felt like giving up i just cant and i won't my children will grow up and look back proud like damn my mom was strong. God bless you all.... sorry for the long comment is the holidays and this hits and hurts the most on special occasions!!!

My childhood was just okay, but the music of my childhood was passionate, poetic and even a six year old could listen, b/c artists still used metaphors about sexual desire and sexual activity. They wouldn't have know what it was all about. There were a few outliers out there such as "Get Off," and later "Sexual Healing." They didn't dominate the Black music scene though.

It had to be 10 years ago when he had a show in Columbus, OH and he asked me where the mall was ( I was a valet then) but any who he had the smoothest voice and I’m a dude and he had this bad girl with him and bad as is good (Lupe don’t get me started), but as you said he is a very polite and smooth dude and our mall was not popping at all. Felt bad showing him where it was across the street.

Well Jane by confidence would it be out of the way to tell you that if you cant find a genuine man than let me be the one to tell you I don't know what is wrong the men you have or possibly have had interest in. To me when I look at you' your picture that is I cant imagine why a genuine man would not go for you; your beautiful honey and I am telling the truth. I remember going to see Joe in concert with a very dear school friend in Brixton, London in the early 2000s. We had known each other since 11 years old but lost contact with each other in our mid twenties. Watching this video reminds me of her so much, I thought we would be friends forever but life got in the way.

Today is our 21st wedding anniversary. This was our 1st dance as husband and wife:) The song was supposed to be Spend My Life with you by Eric Benet and Tamia BUT God the DJ lost the tape and only had this song to play. What a laugh we had and how beautiful this dance was. 21 years later we know it was because it was meant to be. For our 10 year we played both songs and here were are another 11 years later still dancing together in love, Thank you God! Thank you Jesus! Thank you Divine Holy Spirit! 5 amazing children and a family that loves and supports us. Joe, you may not see this but this song will forever be our song!! Thank you!! To every married couple out there, keep the faith and hold on. Keep loving each other, keep being each other's best friend and sanctuary. Keep faith first and God as the most important thread. Selah
