Boy George With Louis Theroux
Музыка
Recorded May 2020
Louis is using the lockdown to track down some high-profile people he’s been longing to talk to - a fascinating mix of the celebrated, the controversial and the mysterious.
In this episode, he speaks to singer and musician, George O’Dowd aka Boy George, who has chosen to lockdown in London rather than Australia. They discuss growing up in the 70s, losing his virginity and a surprise appearance in the A-Team.

Boy George is such a sensible person! He's just so real and down to earth. And he's my generation. No fuss. No crap. The man says what he thinks and I love him for it!

It's so refreshing and unusual, especially now as most celebs speak from a script.
I'm from Kenya in East Africa and I have loved Boy George, his music, the band culture club. I love his music, enjoy his interviews. Wish he would have come to Kenya for a concert. Maybe one day
George is a lovely bloke. He transcended sexuality and showed me, an old Geordie lad, how to accept people for themselves. My background was borne out of ignorance and I’m still learning but my word, the 1970’s was brutal for everyone. Any preserved difference was magnified and called out by everyone. Thank Christ we have progressed.

Come to think of it now, what a trendsetter he was! I loved him as an artist yet he could be nasty then as a person but he's always been genuine and authentic. So glad he's doing so well now. Still cheeky and love his vulnarable side. Hasn't lost his humor....I feel real admiration for him.
My Irish mum and dad loved Boy George. My dad thought George was really intelligent and funny. My older brother was a punk with blue or pink hair. He looked tame compared to George. As London Irish kids we all thought Boy George was awesome. I liked him more than I liked the music. I hope your mums ok George. 👍
This is the best interview I've heard in years! Love both these beautiful souls. Could have listened for hours
Well that was fucking great... Loved every second. Where's the 'And another thing!' thought?!!?.. ♥️

Love both these men and it's great to discover a conversation between them.
I have adored Boy George and Culture Club since the 80’s. For whatever reason I felt a profound feeling, almost like I knew him or at least I connected with him on some “level”. He has gained much wisdom, self-awareness and his wit, intelligence and talent prevail. I have my own theory about those of us that remember our personal memories and chronological events with “granular accuracy”. Very much appreciated upload!

@@debraweaver6308 So here goes. There are those individuals that have the ability to recall specific events, smells, sound (somatic memory) in a flashbulb (photogenic) manner whereby they can not only remember, see and feel exact emotion in what happened but also develop a profound connection to people or places associated with that event. The brain tries to make sense and organize what it perceives - its as if a chronological library of events, feelings, occasions, your attire, who was involved, food, music are stored in volumes. To me it’s like reliving the past in real-time which is way different then just recounting who you hung out with in 1984. It’s very odd, but I know there are others like me and this is the only way I can explain how it happens.
Loved this. Good for you George! Single is good. You are the captain of your ship! Bravo!

Indeed, some learn mindfulness over time to filter comments and reactions that may have an adverse effect or influential impact to peoples life's. Great interview. LOVE & RESPECT.

Love you Boy George, hopefully your mum is feeling better 🇨🇦🇬🇧
love it
Since George arrived on the scene in 1982 was it? It appears that he has had to discuss his image and identity over and over and over. His own identity was bigger than the band. It was Culture Club not Boy George and Culture Club. With George it is image first and always was. The media won't let that be forgotten though George does go along with it. Culture Clubs success in the 1980s happened quickly it felt and burnt out as quick. I wonder what band they would have been if they'd consistently stayed together and recorded consistently like Madonna as an example?
❤
So glad he overcame his addictions..
Hey Everyone it's me, This was a very interesting interview wouldn't you agree?
