Oh boy, turns out “Boy from Heaven” is a 2022 Swedish political thriller film directed by Tarik Saleh. SWEDISH! The film premiered on May 20th, 2022 at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. We did get one thing right! The film was shot primarily at the Süleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey. The story goes that Adam, the son of a fisherman, accepts an offer to study at the prestiguous Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. Shortly after his arrival, the Grand Imam of al-Azhar suddenly dies and a power struggle to replace him ensues…deception and intrigue hold no place sacred. Give it a chance!
