    Our Boxer is wonderful…gentle, goofy, loving and excellent protection. I am disabled and no longer able to protect myself and feel safe with him at my side.

    I've had Boxers for 12 years and recently realized I want to go into this with 2 of my own bloodline pups. I own the parents and grandparents also and I believe this line has the natural ability for it. Where's a good place to start? Thank you for this video!!

    Ask around at dog clubs in your area. Look for one in your area, they'll be dog clubs that list "Working Dog Club" in it's name and usually some word to reflect the regional aspect. For instance in my area one was called Southwestern Ohio Working Dog Association SOWDA. Go to any dog obedience show, hang around in the working dog section, start up a conversation with exhibitors, inquire if they know of any. Do a search online for Schutzhund Clubs. Be prepared to spend some bucks and work hard. It's not cheap to bring in judges from Europe for competitions. Be prepared for members to be blunt at first, they'll not be impressed with your 'pets'. But stick with it, donate your time to their cause, work hard. Be friendly and respectful, you're there to learn what they already know. Here are some links I quickly found for my area. www.google.com/search?q=working+dog+clubs+Ohio&rlz=1C1CHBD_enUS791US791&oq=working+dog+clubs+Ohio&aqs=chrome..69i57.15506j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

    A bite from a Shepard is one thing. The Boxer is built to under bite and crush the whole muzzle of the prey. Not piercing teeth...crush the ability to breathe. 3 minutes without air , 3 days without water , 3 weeks without food.

    arturo rossi come per tutti i cani è meglio portarli quanto prima possibile perché da cuccioli apprendono molto più facilmente che da adulti. il prezzo invece dipende dall'addestratore e dalla zona in cui vivi.

    KacperMuscle Like the GSD the Boxer has to have the right genetics. That said, its all about the individual dog and not about the breed. I personally find the Boxer easy to work, but that is because I understand the breed. Good Luck!

    I agree with what BoxersVonBachett said. I have the breed, but worked with dogs as a career for over 20 yrs. I will say that Boxers vs GSDs there is a difference. Boxers do tend to have a stubborn streak and it helps to have a sense of humor with the breed. I adore Boxers and there is really no breed quite like them.

    Great video :) and great dog! I just adopted a boxer/pitbull mix. He's only 3 months old now but I want to start training him for this. I've noticed my puppy is really stubborn and also gives up attention in the blink of an eye. Any suggestion?

    Sorry I didn't even see your question until now. Tell me how things are going with your pup at 10 months old?

  • @notjude7884

    @notjude7884

    I wouldn’t suggest you do this with your mix. Pit bulls were not bred for people protection - they are not people aggressive dogs. Boxers are bred for this and your pup being a mix may, and I’m almost 90% sure without meeting him, not be able to do this kind of work simply based on genetics. You say he’s stubborn and unfocused? Boxers are generally stubborn but only when neglected, scolded, or being told repeatedly to do something - or when already having been completed the command/request and still being told to do the command- but to your liking. That not only irritates them, since they’re plenty intelligent to understand your request, but it confuses them, too. One has to know what is going on in the animal’s mind. I tell you this not to discourage you but spread knowledge solely for the love of the breed.

    Hi good nights how was the process getting your boxer to this point of obedience and protection work how long did it take you n how fast does the dog pick up on commands from a puppy

    How long did it take the dog to mature like this? N are boxer naturally prey driven and bite first kind of dogs?

  • @BoxersVonBachbett

    @BoxersVonBachbett

    2 жыл бұрын

    It takes a long time! A lot of work! The higher the drive to fight the more difficult to control. So the faster more powerful high drive dog will be more difficult, but of course it is worth it! And YES, starting from a puppy and teaching them how to get the reward makes this easier. It’s always easier if the dog understands the way to win. We want as little conflict conflict as possible. So the most important thing is that it needs to be fun and enjoyable for your dog.

    Do your boxers have longer snouts then usual sense they are a working breed or is it about the same

  • @BoxersVonBachbett

    @BoxersVonBachbett

    2 жыл бұрын

    We personally breed for longer muzzles with our lines of German Boxers. This is not the case in Germany .. unfortunately. if you look at the cover photo of Sam, the video you commented on, you will notice that his muzzle has great depth, (goes far back into the mouth) giving him almost as much area as a mush longer nose dog. So it is length and depth that we breed for.

    That's great to hear, Once I get older I will definitely get one of these working boxers. I like boxers but I want one with a big head,big muscular body, long snout,very high prey drive and just a cool athletic (old style) beastly boxer that is great for hunting that I'll greatly appreciate and it'll be like a family member to me
