    I LOVE LOVE LOVE boxers!!! My favorite dog I’ve ever owned was my boxer. I miss her so much! My boxer was the sweetest dog ever until she thought one of my sisters or I were in danger. My dad once dressed up as Scream and scared us when I was little and I saw a side to my beloved boxer I never thought I’d see: she hunkered down in front of us, hackles up, snarling and snapping her teeth at my dad, daring him to lay a finger on one of us. Once he took of the mask she calmed down a little. He rewarded her greatly once he realized how protective over us she really was.

    They are so loyal. Yes they will protect you to the death I think. My boxer and my dad got attacked by 2 dogs awhile back (the owner had them off leash, and he was looking at his phone) the shepherd/Dane mix came running at them trying to attack my boxer. My dad did the right think he kept try to keep my boxer on leash and was trying to keep him out of harms way. He didn’t want a fight to ensue so he tried to keep him behind him. He got knocked on his back and kepttrying to kick the dog off him, that’s when the heeler came too and tried to get my boxer. He held him own, my dad said he was ready to protect the whole time. Thank god no one got hurt. It could have been bad. Without any formal protection training I think my dog held his own.

    Kaisha Washington trust me when they want they're very serious dogs. i have two young boxers, they're so playful with everyone they meet, i thought they would never be good guard dogs too but i was fine with it, i don't want aggressive dogs. i took the shock of my life when i was called by my neighbor because he heard my dogs bark no stop and someone scream once. i went home and found the police car just arriving. my dogs stopped barking the moment they saw me, but there were blood stains on them and pieces of clothes all around my garden, one came to me and wouldn't let me go near the other dog that was staring the tree in my garden while growling. after i was able to take my dogs away the police came in and found a guy sitting on my tree, they had to call an ambulance for him but later arrested him. my dogs kept fussing on me for days, not leaving me go alone in the garden. but they later behaved like nothing happened and still as the goofies they are. they're still playful and expansive with who ever they meet but now i know that they could also become very dangerous in no time if they deemed necessary.

    I personally have a boxer with a tail and I hate it, it feels like a switch and when she gets super exited it hits the legs of the tables and causes it to start to bleed, we have a new puppy now and as soon as we got her she got her tail docked and he dew claws removed, we didn't want her dew claws removed but they did it anyway without permission or even bringing it up there wasn't anything in the paper work either so you know.

    That's crazy to me. I never knew people cropped or docked boxers and Rotties. It's illegal in South Africa, unless medically required. A few vets do it illegally, but it's risky. Do americans usually crop and dock all large breeds? Wild man.

  • @servicegemsapphire4593

    @servicegemsapphire4593

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@Mendes16-125 it really just depends on the dog most boxers, rotties, and Dobermans get it done and then it varies for other breeds Edit: its not just a large breed thing either mini pins get their tails docked and im not sure if yorkies get their tails docked or if their born that way. I'm not a huge fan of it but with our older female hitting her tail on the table and getting bleeds pretty often it seemed better to dock our new girls tail normally tho the tails are banded with a rubber band and they just fall off and it doesn't hurt at least thats how it is where I live in the USA

    How strong and proud boxers are they are as equally emotional, gentle and in control of their actions. The dog uses his brains, always thinks what he's about to do, never does anything stupid and just out of the bloom, always thinks about you and if that might upset you in any way, easily adopts to your lifestyle. You want to play, be will, you want to nap, he will, not a spoiled dog at all. Once a boxer, always a boxer. The video is absolutely 110% spot on 👍

    Boxers are the best dogs ever. They look fierce but are gentle and loyal. We lost our 11 and a half year old female last October. Our biggest was a male named Tank who lived for 10 years. He was 125 lbs but literally the sweetest, most docile dog. We miss them.

    I own a Boxer / German Shepherd mix and the Boxer in his personality shines! He is also super fast, well trained and confident. He gets on with all dogs but won't take nonsense from them. He bonds to all my friends like they're family, has no prey drive around other pets I introduce him to. Overall he's a bouncy goofball who is ready to throw down for his family (he's not protection trained so I'm aware he most likely wouldn't bite) but he has protected me by watching closely and a warning bark or two before. Love both breeds dearly:)

My last one was a rescue too - her favourite trick was to pull faces at kids in the cars next to us at stop lights. She was so clever my daughter was convinced she spoke english! Love the positive comments. Thank you! But! So many commenters stating that they’ve never seen serious or real deal boxers. Obviously new to this breed, or have only seen untrained pet dogs. Eye roll*. It’s a must that your train a Boxer, they will become stubborn and dominant if you don’t. I’ve been in Boxers for what 21 years now. And in that time I’ve had American and German working lines. If you’ve owned one or lived with one, no matter the line, then you know they’ll lay down their life for their best friends. Period. There’s a huge difference between them being stuck in your back yard with no attention and living inside; growing up from a pup indoors with is family creates an unbreakable bond. You will develop effective communication, but not without training. Yes you may come across untrained pets; and they make act a fool because of it, but the dog is only as good as the man or woman behind it. And then again, a lot of people just want goofy pets. Gotta keep that in mind. - TM

    Boxers are great workers, but a colleague told that drug addict who was supposed to be taken down, swinged his in the air when it was hard on shoulder and slammed to the ground. + resistance to cold weather is always a plus in Finland as temperatures change from 30 + to 30 - (summer - winter) Giant Schnauzer was my choice for private security companies, still in training, but can't throw 50kg's in the air even when drugged up. Only minus is the slow maturing of the breed. Anyway, working line dogs are beauties, but also wish people who don't have time for them wouldn't take them. Love these videos.

    I had a pure german boxer and he was a absolute monster he was around 100 pounds and he had a small problem with his brain that made him look at every other living thing as a threath so he would try to attack every thing and one time we had a full STEEL chain and lead but he broke of and he attacked a pit bull and he wouldn't let go

    Curious to know at what level IGP your Boxer has reached. Have they passed beyond level one? They are capable and at the same time have an independent streak. I'd like to hear of them doing well in this sport and most of all that they like it.

    What the malinois is to the shepherds, the boxer is to the molosser dogs, I think 😅 A lot lighter and smaller, but faster and more energetic. Still not as "nervous" as malinois I think, tho.

    Boxers are clowns with power. Growing up, had boxers. One female brought a deer fawn into the house in the middle of the night. My current 3.5 year old male, came from strong euro bloodline and is fearless and capable when provoked or threatened but also a typical clown with gentile character. He took down a Malamute almost twice his size after being attacked on an off leash hike. Never doubt a boxer's natural instinct to protect and hold it's ground when the time comes do so. Stubborn and full of heart. Very smart. Good body control.
