Box 13 w/Alan Ladd: The Treasure of Hang Lee (old-time radio adventure)

Original Airdate: July 23, 1948 (Starring Alan Ladd w/Sylvia Picker)
A trip to Chinatown, LA gets Dan a priceless piece of jade, and the quest for a treasure.
The reply to Dan Holiday’s ad this time came in the form of an enticing yet enigmatic message: “Box 13, c/o The Star Times, if your advertisement is on the level, I think you will find this worth your time. Be in the Kwan Yee Shop in Chinatown at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. Pretend you want to buy some jade; reject the first two pieces offered but then mention the Hang Lee piece in the window. Buy the Hang Lee, this will be worth a lot of money to you…”
Box 13 was a syndicated radio drama about the escapades of newspaperman-turned-mystery novelist Dan Holiday, played by Paramount film star Alan Ladd. Created by Ladd's company, Mayfair Productions, Box 13 aired in different cities over different dates and times. It was first aired in some United States radio markets in October 1947. These 40 episodes at Tsnore are from the 1948 season.

Wow! A couple of times I thought that Dan Holiday was a goner - but he survived again - fortunately for him and us. A good adventure with one of my favorite movie and radio actors, the great Alan Ladd.
