Very nice to see someone who is actually honest and calls it like they see it. I also find it lazy they launched this bow with little to no change from previous models.

I don't know if it's lazy, I think it's more that it saves cost meaning the end product is cheaper for the consumer. Otherwise you'd probably pay the 1600 for a new carbon bowtech riser

@@MikesArchery Instead of competing with PSE-Mathews-Hoyt at the $1,600 price point, their marketing strategy is to go after those who want a carbon bow at half the price. Actually a good strategy as they will sell more bows and make more money as there are more customers.

Not arguing that it’s not a nice bow and reasonably priced for a carbon riser. They just keep trying to introduce it as something new and it really isn’t.

The problem with Bowtech's carbon riser is that over time it will start to deform from the pressure it's constantly under.

I took my 2014 Overdrive to my local shop in November to get new strings and cables put on it. When he started working on it, he called me to tell me that it was all jacked up and the riser was bent. He sent it back to Bowtech and because I registered it originally it was still under warranty. They called today and told me I can get the Zion or Amplify and owe nothing, or get the Revolt or Revolt X for an additional $325. That’s why I’m researching all of them right now.

This was an issue with the earlier carbon bows by bowtech. I have spoken to 3 shops that sell the zions. All of them have said they have had no problems with the bow anytime they come back in for retuning. You can't judge a bow by how older models preformed. I have one and so does a friend (friends owned his a couple of years) absolutely no problems. The bow that had the problem was the carbon knight which is quite an old bow now.

Honestly I like the truth of the video. I've shot the bow it does shoot great no doubt about it. I've shot older models and the newest model. But like the video said bowtech seems lazy in there carbon line keeping the same riser introducing it as something new. Still really enjoy the vids keep it up.

You mean like Hoyt... and PSE...? Carbon risers cost way to much to develop to just drop a new one every other year. Aluminum risers are as easy as uploading a new cut record into a CNC machine, carbon stuff is not that easy at all lol

I actually called diamond a few months back and offered some suggestions, told them the black ice and liberty were some of the smoothest bows there were that if they brought back those bows with cams with a little better let off they would be a great hit! He told me go shoot a sb1, I dont think so, ill spend the extra 300 and buy a real bow! And I've been watching a whole bunch of your reviews, thank you

Now hold on a minute, I bought the sb1 as my very first bow ever, started at 55 lbs 29.5 dl pushed my self to diligently become proficient @20,30,45 yards, now at 70 lbs, I've killed 4 hogs with it one at night, I replaced the stabilizer with true glow green light, 2 at 20, 2 at 40, I'm 60 love the compact size, wonderful draw cycle, solid back wall, consistency in accuracy, is it perfect by no means, for the price point decent little shooter, I certainly don't impress anyone when I take it to the bow shop for a check up, but I'm ok with that. Just saying

@@rootrriddr6181 Hi Mark! I'm not downing the bow by any means, just saying that IMHO their bows from the past were smoother draw cycle. I still have a 06 diamond liberty that I will keep forever, its a 60lb bow and shooting a 380 grain arrow im getting 270 fps out of it. However, I just got a mathews v3 31 and nothing compared to its draw cycle.

@@rootrriddr6181 I live in Florida, getting permission on private is like pulling teeth! Hogs are also considered invasive here, but land owners rather hire trappers. There's a subdivision about an hour from me ate up with them and healthy as u could possibly imagine! Fwc here won't help us hunt the public parks nor the countys! The only reason I mentioned draw cycles on the bows are because I have a real bad scapula injury. A silky smooth draw all the way through with no humps is of upmost priority to not reagravate it again. When time comes shoot as many bows as you can they are all are different! Even if you have to drive to 2 or 3 different shops. Your a hunter I got the feeling you know what to do 🤣 My next favorite bow was the elite kure

Hearing a guy say a bow with a sub 7" brace height is "high" and "forgiving" makes me feel like I am out of touch. When I started 7" was short and unforgiving. But bow years are like computer years. 5 years is a long time and 20 is an eternity. That said, I have a Carbon Icon and love it. This bow is pretty much the same but with a new grip and harmonic dampeners which the bow needed. I am glad to see the changes. Still, this new version is not different enough to make me want to switch.

Not sure why everybody has to bag on reputable companies that come up with a great design and leave it alone then keep selling them. Quality and durability at a affordable price point is where your money and reputation hold. Can't tell any or convince any of these monkeys that on GLOCK pistols, Cold Steel, Benchmade, Zero Tolerance, ESEE, Busse Combat etc etc knives either. Not on Gibson or Fender guitars either or American pickup trucks from Ford and Chevy. I don't want to buy a "new" piece of crap! I'm not spending $1,700 - $2,500 on a bow either and I'm old enough to know and have been doing this long enough that a $500 compound bow was considered "expensive". I still have and use my 1997 Jennings Starmaster Advantage Camo......SMH
