Mike's Archery

Mike's Archery

A channel for Archery product reviews, Archery tips and hunting videos.
Mike's Archery Inc. was started on the back porch of Mike and Linda’s home as a hobby business in 1971. At that time archery was in its infancy (B.C.) as Mike likes to call it “Before Compounds”. The love for the sport of archery and hunting was the driving force.
The small retail shop grew and serviced thousands of archers throughout the 70's. By 1980 the business had grown and taken a new direction with an Easton Distributorship. This moved Mike’s Archery Inc. into wholesale distribution shipping products to retailers across the United States.
We have continued to grow and service dealers and archers with top quality products, quick order response, and knowledgeable service.
We stock over 6000 products from hundreds of the top brands in archery. The love of archery and hunting are still the passion that drives our business.

I just shot one of these, brand new 2024, yesterday. I shot my 422 gn arrow (a GT 340 at 32 inches w/100 gn tip; was weighed just prior to shooting)__set at 70 lbs__and DL was set at 32.0 inch draw by the shop (matching my current bow). The best speed was 307 fps....all shots ranging from 300 to 307 fps. Then they bumped the DL to 32.5 inch (wasn't too long for me) and speeds ranged 305 to 311 fps. I just cannot see me shooting an ultralight target arrow with a 75 gn tip just to get its AW near 350 gn; only to check if the speed gets anywhere near 350 fps. In comparison; my current, still, 2006 Old Glory at 32 inch, 'w/the same arrow' but at 60 lbs, shoots 285 to 290 fps. So I expected more from the Revolt XL at its 70 lb DW (+10 lb); than a 15 to 17 fps jump at the same 32 inch DL as my current 60 lb bow. Expecting the Revolt XL to elevate my consideration of adding this one to the "mine" collection. But it failed in that......and I was left not impressed and disappointed by it. It basically fell within the speculated range of 10 fps/5 lb of additional draw weight; to equal a 20 fps max...going from 60 to 70 lbs. This one coming in at 15 to 17 fps...and yet with a new, 18 yr newer, bow. Not just by increasing the weight on the same bow.

It's a good release, BUT if you don't need the head length adjustment, the "Tru Ball Trident Pro Flex Release" is just as good and cheaper. For $300+ Tru Ball should've included the .050" hex wrench, which is absolutely necessary to lock/unlock all of the critical adjustments!

Been talk on the AT forums about limb failure issues. First batch with the issues was assembled with white grease and the newer limbs are assembled with red grease. I hope this isn’t a huge common issue because I bought this bow and I like it.

Do you know what grade aluminum Bowtech used on this bow? I have the Destroyer 350 and it touted 7075-T6 aluminum cams, which were extremely light and strong. I'm just wondering which subsequent series of bows they used this aluminum for their cams.

Nicely done! I thought the release felt great and I never had an issue with mine functionally, but the neck length is ridiculous. Nobody wants to lose draw length especially in a hunting setup.
