Bournville Cadbury Club Fire: Multiple fire engines responding with siren and lights
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Multiple fire engines and specialist units responding with siren and lights and on scene as Firefighters tackle a severe building fire at the Cadbury factory's social club building, The Cadbury Club, in Bournville, Birmingham, UK.
The fire is reported to have broken out at 16:45 on Friday, Aug 14 in the Cadbury chocolate factory's social club building, The Cadbury Club, opposite the factory and Cadbury World complex on Bournville Lane. There were no reported injuries. Investigators determined the cause was accidental and believed it was caused by an electrical fault in a light fitting.
9 Pump Rescue Ladders (PRLs), 2 Hydraulic Platforms (HPs), 1 Incident Command & Control Unit (ICCU), 1 Incident Support Unit (ISU) and several Brigade Response Vehicles (BRVs) were in attendance.

It is always impressive when the fire brigade has to respond. Thank you for the video so that we can also discover how the fire brigade is organized in other countries. Greetings Eddy (Mechelen/Belgium)

The actual pump (for the water) runs off of the engine for the appliance.. There is a leaver in the cab that disengages the engine from the drive shaft and engages it to the pump motor.. Therefore the engine is constantly running on the fire ground to run the pump.. At long protracted incidents like this where the engine is going to be running for a considerable time the bonnet is opened to stop the engine over heating

Bloody hell! WMFS obviously love their chocolate... How many times did appliances (including the ALP and the silver Audi) clearly turn into Cadbury World only to have to do a U turn back onto Linden Rd! How embarrassing?! :0D
@roddyk05
3 жыл бұрын
thepymes A factory that size must have its own Emergency Response Team or fire team or at the least a lot of security. The company should have had people who knew what was going on (and in radio contact with each other) posted at the various entrances to direct the emergency services to the appropriate area. This is basic stuff and the company has failed here not the emergency services.
@thepymes
3 жыл бұрын
@@roddyk05 Yes, Cadburys do have a fire team who patrol round the factory site in a Fiesta! However, the Social Club isn't on the factory site and doesn't belong to Mondelez. It is off a public road (Bournville Lane) opposite the factory. It should have been clear from the appliance MDT that they needed to turn down Bournville Lane and not into the clearly sign posted Cadbury World which is a private road off Linden Road. My guess is that they misread the MDT and turned off Linden Road too early (Bournville Road is the next left beyond the beautiful Cadbury cricket ground). To be fair I'm pretty sure it will have been appliances from out of the area and NOT the crews from Selly Oak or Northfield (Kings Norton would have approached from the other direction) but someone still owes the station a 'cake run' before their next shift! :0D
@roddyk05

If their MDTs are anything like ours in the Ambulance service then no wonder they took the wrong road. The satnavs in ours have some weird and wonderful ideas where certain hospitals are! 😂
