Bound for Rome: Acts 21-28

In the final video in our Acts series, we trace Paul’s final journey to Jerusalem and then into a Roman prison. But paradoxically, Paul’s suffering leads him into the heart of the Roman empire where he gets to announce God’s Kingdom over the nations.

    I seek truth, does the cross represent creation of an image of that is in heaven? Does that break commandment 2 and 3 since people bow or worship Jesus as a sacrifice? (Image of a second God, representing the invisible GOD that is in heaven?) I inquire for truth.

    I look forward to a Christian company (Perhaps The Bible Project, one day) making another full length animated masterpiece like the Prince of Egypt. It's like everyone is waiting on everyone else to do it. Or they don't believe they can do it themselves, through God. With all the technology these days and all of the entrepreneurship, there should be dozens of Christian companies that are making God honoring animations, movies and videos just like this channel. And even a great, well put together Bible video game (That would be the single best game franchise ever, if made correctly). On top of all of that, the Bible is the ultimate script. There is definitely no shortage of story material for the greatest story ever told. There should be a lot of great biblical videos, movies, etc. Animated or not. So there's no excuse. Just make them all as real as possible, and as close to the scriptures as possible. I want to encourage my fellow brothers & sisters to find and use their spiritual gifts, to edify the body of Christ and reach unbelievers. If God gave you the gift of animation skills or whatever your gift may be, use it always, and always to the glory of God!

Second, it is incredibly refreshing to see Caucasian believers telling visual stories of the Bible without white-washing certain characters. I'm not making a political statement either. It's just that most biblical films and pictures are filled to the brim with white only characters as if that's what the ancient 🌎 looked like. The fact that you include the ethnic complexion of your characters indicates that you truly understand what the new world will look like. People from every tribe, tongue, and nation. Man that part about Jesus' upside-down kingdom gave me chills. Visually and spiritually amazing. Great job shedding light on the depth of Paul's person and his motivations. We can forget where he came from and what was going on inside his head. Loved your interview with N. T. Wright and can certainly see his influence in this.

  • @matmagix3845

    @matmagix3845

    The 'upside down kingdom' is a great way of representing Jesus' countercultural claims and God's plan. A pastor I knew once wrote a book called "Right Side Up" and said that people were walking upside down and didn't know it, thinking Christians were upside down, but in reality God's way is the right side up. Seeing things from an upside down perspective makes it hard for many to accept Jesus (especially for non-believing Jews who look for physical restoration first), but once they turn their lives around, what a difference it makes.

    Paul was one of the few people who ever knew Jesus really, and what he knew caused him to give his life for the cause of Christianity. Christ's kingdom eventually conquered the Roman empire. The Romans could not defeat it so they embraced it. 313 AD saw the Edict of Milan which changed everything. Christianity was capable of conquering mighty empires without lifting a single sword.

    Fair point, but a few important parts of 'change' has been left out. Because not only did 'Christianity' manage to conquer the cities of the world, but it also managed to fall away from the principal teachings of Christ which was actually detestsble to the law of Christ eventually deceiving more people rather than planting the seed of salvation. See the inquisition of the true christian church, led by the opposition that murdered people who were trying to keep and maintain Gods (christs) law including the Sabbath (originally Saturday, always is and always will be), and Passover to name a few. Search up also when the Passover was abolished (Mt 5:17) then you will be certain that Christianty of today is not of any purpose until the Passover at the appointed time (Lev 23:4) is established again by only God.

    Mere theatrics in ancient Rome. Constantine remained a pagan to the end of his life. It's doubtful that baptism is a true part of the New Testament, because paganism had a similar ritual. Also, baptism, in practice, negates the sacrifice of the Jewish Messiah for the forgiveness of sin. Sin was conquered with the death of the Jewish Messiah, a spotless Lamb. An additional "cleansing" ritual would NOT have been required. Roman Christianity is paganism presented as the beliefs of the New Testament. However, it was the Roman Catholic Church that collated the bible using and deliberately modifying the Hebrew scriptures to *repackage* paganism, while suppressing the full truth of the Hebrew scriptures. The ancient Romans hated the Hebrews.

    Now it makes sense why the bible says to go out and make disciples. But we have to know him to teach others about him. Jesus is truly the way.

    I just have how the Bible loves to set parallels and make references to past events so often throughout. I honestly did not know there were so many until these videos came along.
